Booking for VGF2

I thought I read on line that you can start booking for VGF2 starting March 3. I just looked for an October trip and did not see the rooms listed. Are they just going to list them under studio and not say Studio resort and Studio Deluxe? Has anyone been able to book at the new VGF2?

There's a little popup on the booking screen that states you can't start booking them until March 14, for dates later than (I believe) June 19th?

Booking for VGF owners will being on 3/14 for the resort studios in the BPK building. Those reservations will need to be done by phone and not online. Non-owners can begin booking the VGF2 resort studios beginning 5/13 for dates that are 7 months out or less.

According to the points charts, resort studios and deluxe studios will be different booking categories, so you will know whether you are in the original VGF building or the new one, similar to how AKV owners can book Kidani or Jambo. It's unclear how this will appear online when doing a search.

I’ll be curious how easy it is to get a resort studio at the 7 month mark. There’s a lot of rooms entering the system. I’d love to use my SSR points to book them.

Standard and lake views are the same for both buildings. Theme park view in the VGF2 building require more points.

Yes. Resort Studios also have a Theme Park view category which the Studios in the original VGF building don't.

Based on your previous posts your home resort is the Poly - so set the reminder for 5/13. The good news is that you’ll be able to search for & book VGF2 studios online then, unlike the 2 month home resort priority bookings 3/14 - 5/12 during which VGF owners will have to call to book.

Yes, my home resort is Poly but wanted to try to book a October trip which I am within my 7 months. So can I not call on 3/14 for an October trip? Are you saying that they are giving VGF owners two month advantage before it opens to rest of DVC owners? Either way, I hope who ever books will cancel what they have as I am late to the game booking for my October trip and hope my waitlist will come through.

Yes. VGF owners will be given 2 months to book their home resort before other owners can.

Correct, 2 month home resort booking priority. W/ new resorts in active sales you can also sometimes get lucky when they declare more studios which can open up inventory.

Exactly! DVD has declared 101 studios into DVC inventory for VGF2. That means that half the building will be available right off the bat for members to book. It's doubtful that sales will be so brisk that every one of those studios will book up immediately. The best time to book any new DVC resort is right after rooms have been declared.

Probably will never be an easier time to book them at 7 months although I'm not expecting them to ever become one of the most difficult to book since there will be so many. Maybe like BLT lakeview? Or might be even easier like Poly standard view. The 1st two years VGF was open I booked studios for the 1st week of December at 7 months. Not positive but I don't think that's been possible since then.

Thanks for letting me know about the two month advantage for the owners. Hopefully, there will be some movement for other resorts for October with all these studios opening.

VGF owners could call DVC today 13 March, to book the new resort studios.
Those who bought VGF2 only this month could book the original rooms on line but I don’t think there is any online access to resort studios until May.

I was successful in booking 5 nights in October today after only a 30minute wait so not as bad as some feared.

If I own VGF1 and SSR can I book VGF2 using my SSR points?

You cannot use the SSR points until May 13 and only for dates inside the 7-month non-home resort booking window. You can use your VGF1 points right now to book a VGF2 resort studio on or after June 20, but you have to call to book it.
