Hiya

Just a few questions if thats ok, I am looking to book for 4 adults and 4 children (though two of the children will be 12 and 15) I am just wondering when 2006 september prices will come out?

also will the new disney passes be in use then?

thanx anna

Hi Anna,

I've been able to price up a couple online for September 06; I seem to remember March / April time being when Virgin released their hols for later in the next year, but I could be wrong!

The new Disney passes are in use now, who knows what there will be in September 06, LOL

Cheers

Karen

We have been able to book our villa already for August 2006 which is great because they have fixed the dollar rate at what it is now so no problems for us if the rate goes down.

I have advance registered with Virgin Holidays to book fly drive and they phoned to say they will call me again in April with prices etc so I guess that's when the new brochures will be out. If you're booking flights only I don't think you'll be able to book til November.

Be careful!

We booked with Virgin in May last year (travelling Sept this year) about 2 weeks after their 2005 brochures came out.

Our holiday has reduced in price by £464 since we booked it and when we called them they weren't interested.

After several phone calls, they have finally reduced the price, but not to today's prices.

Also check out Funway. They seem to be fairly cheap and you also get Virgin flights.

I completely understand how frustrating it is to see the same holiday come down in price after you've booked it (it's happened to me) but I don't think there are any real grounds for complaint. Once the deposit has been paid, hasn't a contract been entered into and the price agreed? As has also happened to me, the price could increase after you've booked, but I doubt that many people would be contacting the travel company to get them to change the cost on that basis! ;)

If I buy something in a High Street store at one price and then see it reduced in the sale I wouldn't consider that I had been swindled, just that I had bought at the 'wrong time'. Annoying, yes, but I'd say that's about all.

Hilary,

I understand that I entered into a contract, but you don't expect the price to fluctuate that much. We did enter into a contract when we booked the holiday and Virgin are well within their rights to hold us to that, but as you say it is very frustrating.

When I spoke to Virgin this morning, they said that they don't advise people to book so early. I was just passing this on to mushumadness.

We certainly won't book that early again!

Regards,
Steve

I have this morning booked a holiday to Sandals in Antigua for Feb 2006. Many of the flights have no PE seats left and the booking agent on the telephone told me they always advise people to book early to get what they want. Book late and you get what's left!

Totall agree! Particularly if you after Premium Economy seats. The PE cabin almost always sells out before both Upper Class and Economy.

I have just booked with virgin for a 3 week in villa and a 4 night cruise. Had problems getting certain flights out. Tried to fly the 2nd, got the 3rd in end as every time i hit a brick wall on dates through April as all econamy seats had been taken only PE seats left. So if any one wants to fly econamy through this month they had better get in now.
