Booking for last week of October

My family is considering a Halloween trip for 2011 leaving the 27th and returning the 5th. Can anyone tell me if this is a busy time for DVC members? I will be trying to book OKW at 7 months and am just wondering what to expect. Crowd predictions for this time are pretty low, but so are points, so I wondered if this was a historically busy time for the DVC crowd. Any input would be appreciated!

We were at WDW for Halloween about 3 years ago, and the weather was pretty bad, rain, and cool weather, but we had fun and we're going to try to go again this year. I have to wait until 7 months to book too. We didn't think the crowds were particularly bad when we went. We stayed at VWL and we want to stay there again.

October has become a busier and busier time. It seems more and more people go in October for the Food and Wine Festival and Halloween. Most people want to stay at BWV and BC for the Food and Wine. I think you should be fine looking at the 7 month window for OKW unless you are looking for a grand villa.

If it helps I was able to get BCV at 7 months (waitlist) in early November last year. The year before no problem w/ BLT and SSR for mid-October.

We went to Disney this past October. We were there the last week of October into the first week of November. The parks were much busier than the previous year when we went the week before Thanksgiving. We also found the DVC reservation a bit hard to come by....we booked at our home resort BLT and wanted to change at 7 months out but were not able to. Food and Wine seems to add to the crowds at this time.

We have been going for the last 11 years and every year it gets busier and busier. As much as we love Halloween there, we are thinking of moving our trip to earlier in October.

There was one day in MK at the HM where the wait time was 90 minutes. We had never experienced anything like that in previous years.

It's a busy time for the EPCOT DVC resorts (BWV & BCV) due to the Food & Wine festival. It is wonderful to walk back to your resort after Illuminations.

I was there last year Oct 23-29. It was not busy during the week. On Tuesday afternoon around 1:00, Space Mt was 5 minute wait. We literally walked on Pirates, we never broke stride straight onto the boat. It was crowded on the weekend, Saturday night at Epcot was the most crowded I've ever seen it because of the Food & Wine Festival. I stayed at BWV, I'm pretty sure it was soldout far in advance.

We were there for Halloween in 2009. The weather was perfect and crowds weren't too bad - definitely lighter than our previous trip at the end of April (not near Easter). We had no problem getting a standard view studio at AKV Jambo at 7 months.

We were there this past Halloween until the 5th of November. The week days were very enjoyable, low crowds and minimal wait times. The weather was terrific. Food and Wine was fun during the week, the week ends get very crowded. Overall it is a wonderful time to visit WDW.

I'm not too worried about crowds, just getting the ressie. I know that at times, like earlier Dec., crowd levels aren't very high but the DVC reservations can be very hard to get. The last two years we have gone the week before Christmas, and I'm sure it be won't be too crowded comparatively.

As you can see we will be at BWV for that week. It should not be too bad but F&W will make it harder to get a standard view ressie. I booked 11 months out and was able to get the standard view, so make sure to mark your calendar and call exactly on the 7th month window. I imagine that you should have no problems for OKW. GL
