Hi guys n gals.

Its been a while since i have been on the forum as i didnt really think we would be in line for another Disney trip but it looks like we can do one more!! Yipee!

The wife was made redundant in october and shes had a very nice redundancy package so we have some money to spend for a new kitchen and a nice holiday next year. We have just come back from a santa sleepover at Chessington world of adventures which we thoroughly enjoyed. My son has just turned 9 so its touch and go whether he will believe in Santa after next Christmas (hes already started asking awkward questions) :-(

so we have started pricing up places to go next Christmas - Bluestones and Centre Parcs and then my wife had a moment of genius!............Disneyland at Christmas!

We have never thought about going at Christmas before!! We thought its bound to be stupidly busy and very expensive....but having a quick at prices for next Christmas and its not that bad really.

The current offer is 2 days free so 4 nights in the HNY first of december is around £760 for 2 adults and 2 children.

so my questions are:

Is this a decent price for christmas?
Do you think its best to book early?
How busy will 5-9th december be?
whats the chances of an offer with a meal plan popping up?

Any feedback would be greatfully received!!
many thanks.

Hi :santa:

I think that's a good price for 4 nights at the HNY - we paid a bit less than that for 3 nights at Sequoia Lodge (2A + 2C) but that was during school Christmas holidays when prices do increase of course.

There was a half board offer on the UK site for Christmas I'm sure, we had to weigh up whether to go with that or the French offer (35% off and under 12s free but no half board - decided on this option in the end). So there could be one this year :)

I would imagine 5th to 9th December to be quite manageable crowd-wise as the French and UK children are still in school. We went at the start of December once (when my DD was nearly 3, now she's nearly 10 :scared1:), it was really quiet.

Happy planning!

Christmas is the most magical season and the best value season in my experience, and it's always 2 days free/50% off with the early booking offer so doesn't get much better than that really.

We've been several times at Christmas and never found it too busy.

thanks for your replies both! much appreciated.

you might be better waiting for an offer which gives you under-12s free as well as a decent (ie 30% plus) discount, if both your children are aged over 6 but under 12. That could make quite a difference to your price.

my kids will be 6 and 10 next year. an under 12's free offer would be great but i think the wife is keen to book it asap really.

I haven't seen the u12's go free offer very often? Is there a usual time of the year they do this offer do you know?

I booked my trip through the French booking line (ring the English number and ask to speak to someone in the French office that speaks English.) we saved a ton of money doing it that way (about £500 to be honest) and it was all really easy. I'd recommend going outside of the school holidays, we didn't queue more than 10mins for any ride last week and it made the whole week away brilliant

under 12s free, plus a % discount, is a regular offer on the non-UK versions of the official DLP site, but you will usually have to wait until 3-4 months before travel to get the best deals (other European country guests don't tend to book up as early as UK and Irish visitors).

Have you tweaked the booking to 1 adult 2 children and priced up an annual pass? Does that make a difference?
