Booking for 50th Anniversary

I was just wondering people's thoughts on booking a room only now VS waiting for June to book a vacation package for October 1, 2021. My family is interested in just being there for a couple days so I'm leaning towards booking a room only. I'd love some other peoples advice

You can book a basic package that is just a room, then add tickets or dining later. You have to call to do it over the phone.

Yes exactly. I'm more so wondering if there is an advantage to waiting or not. Thanks for the response!

You are safer just booking the room without the "package" so you can cancel if you need to. Call and confirm the cancellation policy as it is different and not as attractive when you add dining and tickets. If a deal shows up closer to when you are traveling (18 months out) you can switch it out. The world is too crazy right now, so have an offramp!
