I'm in the same It's a Small World boat. Once I have my plans finalized as to the resort, I'll be calling.

The reservation system is so flexible that it's silly, so I can not see a downside. But I have not called to get details yet. Have you?

This is just my preference, but I always wait until August, when the next year's packages are released, to book my trip. We are probably going in March 2012 after having to skip a Disney trip this year.

I will be booking our June 2012 trip in the fall b/c I will be able to pay for half the trip then, plus DH will be able to confirm his vacation days.

I always wait until August when the packages come out. Unless you are going during a very busy week I am sure you will get the resort you want!

Why bother you will have to cancel your room only reservation and then rebook a package. That means paying again and waiting for a refund. Seriously I don't think you are going to have any problems with availablitly waiting to the prices actually come out.

already booked my split stay 2 bedroom AKV and 2 bedroom BLT last week for end of Feb/early March. I ended up renting points this time, but I was planning on calling this week anyway to make room only reservation. I wanted to be able to get the room I wanted and not sit around for a few months and wonder if I was going to be able to get it or not....

We'll be waiting to book our trip. Disney will be sending out discounts base on occupancy so we figured we can wait it out. Our last trip was awesome but we booked early and never received any discounts for the week we were going. This time we'll be more flexible too with our dates...so whenever the discounts/specials fall, that's when we're going! lol

We booked two weeks ago for June 2012. We are staying at POR in the Royal rooms. I used my triple AAA discount and would love to see a better room only discount. Either way we are going!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I really wanted a package deal I would wait.

Haven't booked yet, we are shooting for 1st week in December 2012,
you can always change your res. If a better discount comes out.

Think it'll be next week before my agent at DU can book for me. I believe we can book 499 to your check-out date. So, it's next week then!! Can't wait till she books. And of course I really can't wait till the park hours are released. Does Disney release it 6 months in advance?
