Booking flights? Minivan hire?

Hi everyone,
Just thought I'd ask about booking flights.
We're not going 'til August 2005 (seems like ages), we've booked our villa but are now looking at flights. How soon ahead can you book them? Which are the best value? Where can I book them?
How much can I expect to pay? So many questions, but I'm excited already.
Oh yes, we want to book an 8-seater minivan. Where's the cheapest place please?
Anybody got any good links?
Sorry, but I bet these questions have been asked a million times.

Hi Neil, usually the airline only take "firm bookings" just under a year ahead, but you can often "pre-book" seats that are confirmed nearer the time. Do be aware this is often the more expensive route though.

Again car prices it's worth keeping an eye on a number of sites and regularly checking to see if they are having a "special". Usually the better deals are nearer the time of flight, I normally book cars etc about 2-3 months before departure.

Hi, we might see you there we are going back in Aug 2005 to get 2 trips out of our AP's. We are going this Aug as well and I have just hired a 7 seater minivan from Airline network for 22 days for £620 which I thought was a good deal
