We are booking our flights this Thursday. The best price we have found is miles+money with Virgin £1319 for 2 adults and 2 children flying on Sunday 8th Feb returning Sunday 22nd Feb 2009.

Do you think this sounds like a good deal or could we do better?

Personally if I saw a Virgin direct flight at £349 Ad/£309 Ch that included a school holiday week I wouldn't be asking, I would have it booked. :thumbsup2

Thanks Wayne - I was pretty sure that it ws a good price. We've had to wait for DH's pay to book which is why we're not booking until Thursday - it can't come quickly enough :)

Does that price include all the taxes or not?
If it does I would go for it! Just be aware that presidents weekend probably falls somewhere in your dates and it gets extremely busy Friday - Monday, we were there in 05 and it was packed, I'd never heard of Presidents day so we were a bit shocked at the crowds, it also goes dark v. early and the parks close by about 5pm. The weather can be a bit hit and miss too, we were in shorts at Busch gardens one day and in coats at seaworld the next.
Just checked and it's the 16th Feb.

Yes it does, Miles and Money prices include tax. Ticket cost before tax is £160 Ad and £120 Ch, Taxes, fees, & Surcharges £189.80pp
Its the same price I paid for Easter 07 but tax & fees were only £131 then making a total of £291, a bargain for Easter 2 weeks.

I booked for our trip ( we fly on Monday yay) last June and managed to get flydrives for £370 each for 4 adults, but then the tax was added on, still thought it was a good deal though as the weeks beforehand were £579 + tax.
How many miles did you use for the price you paid? I've only just joined Flying Club so would be interested in knowing the likely points required.

Where you getting quotes plus tax? Don't know why they are not giving you inclusive price it has to be paid.
You only have to use 2,000 miles to get a miles and money ticket. We have saved almost £5,000 in past 2 years being in VA flying club.

It was 2000 miles per person (adults and children required the same amount of miles) so it cost us 8000 miles in total. We had 8000 miles each from our VA flights to Florida in December last year. We plan on saving DH's 8000 in the hope that we can save the 20000 required for a 'free' flight next time we go, probably in 2011.

As for it being busy we knew that it was Presidents day on the 16th and Mardi Gras the week after we leave. I believe our second week is also a school holiday week for the US schools so we know the parks will be busy that week. It can't be busier than it was Christmas week though :scared1: According to our research the parks shouldn't be as busy for our first week so we plan on hitting the parks hard for the first part of our stay and taking it easier and enjoying our resort for our second week.

We don't mind the crowds though to be honest,we found at Christmas if you were happy to just enjoy the atmosphere and go with the flow that it wasn't stressful. AS for the weather we both hate really hot weather so prefer it to be cool. Everyone told us Christmas would be chilly but it was like a good UK summer to us :rotfl: We wore shorts and tshirts during the day and put on jackets and jeans for the evening stuff. It was fine :)

I just can't wait to get back to the world again :cool1:
