Booking Flight via Dis - it's worth it!

Timster
Dont Do it ...

With all the low cost airlines out of boston Song, jet Blue...
WHO HAVE NONSTOP flights... The cruise is in September..

Weather probably wont be a factor..
also if u fly in the night before then u dont hae to worry
about missing the ship[..... we usually pay Between
135.00 and 180.00 per person round trip non stop

I know that DCL charges at least $250.00 per person...

and flights will be less desirable ones...

EVEN IF u fly out early morning u will get there..

We always fly in night before.....

I would definitely book my own air. I don't like someone else dictating which airline I can fly on, and what times I can go. And, on top of that, charging me more than I would pay if I booked it myself at my preferences. Travelling with toddlers or pre-k kids is no fun with connecting flights - and why risk being on connecting flights and missing one when you can go direct for cheaper? You avoid the whole "Disney guarantees holding the ship if we are late" by just coming in the night before. DCL airfares and transfers are just another way to pad their profits, and they get plenty of that already from the cruise prices.

If you fly down the same day and use the yellow tags in your document book you won't see your bags again until you arrive at the ship regardless of whether you booked through DCL or not. You can use Southwest out of Providence or Manchester and get direct for cheaper, Jetblue and Song from Logan are also direct and cheaper and you know the itinerary and times. Rethink it and check it out. Just a thought.

Thanks for all the great input. We do usually fly Song, or Jetblue. We are currently re-evaluating our plans. Luckily we have 'till the end of '05 to figure it all out.
Now I should probably start turning my attension to MNSSHP.

Rock on, and Anchor's Away...........
