If I book Eurostar direct with Disney can I choose our seats, or indeed guarantee that we will all be together?
Also does anyone know when booking opens for the end of August?

Hi catkin :welcome: to the Disneyland Paris Trip Planning & Community Board.

Hoping you'll have lots of fun on here    please join in with any thread or if you have any questions please start a new one of your own.

If you haven't had a look yet, the DLP DISboard posting rules are here and the DIS posting guidelines can be found here. :)

As far as I know if you book the Eurostar through Disney the seats aren't allocated until nearer the time of travel and there have been a few reports over the years of families not being seated together, although I think this is the exception rather than the rule. If I were you, I'd book it independently, this way you know you'll be seated together and it's invariably cheaper.

Booking should be open for the end of August soon, sometimes Eurostar take phone bookings earlier than the website will allow so why not give them a ring. If it's still too early to book by phone ask them to take your details then they'll phone you with a price as soon as your date is available to book. :)

I phoned Disney today and although booking has opened for the end of August, it hasn't yet opened for the beginning of Sep when we're coming back!
WARE BEARS Sorry to be thick, but do you mean to phone Disney or Eurostar? Hadn't thought about the possibility of them phoning me.
The main reasons we are considering booking through Disney are the 20% off offfer & the fact that Disney Express is thrown in. Mainly for the checking in on the train, as we have heard that the queues at Disney Express drop off can be longer than walking to HTNY and doing it there. Also as they now apparently have breakfast slots at HTNY we would have little choice left if we leave it until evening to go to the hotel
Decisions, decisions!

Sorry, I should have made that clearer. I meant for you to ring Eurostar (I've amended my other post), it's definitely worth seeing what their prices are as even with 20% off with Disney you may still be able to get it cheaper independently. Even if you arrange your travel with Disney I think it's only your park tickets that you'll be given on the train, I'm 99% sure your room number won't be allocated until you check-in at your hotel which is when you will arrange your breakfast time. You can also purchase Express luggage service even when you've arranged your travel independently, you just phone up Disney and get them to add it onto your package.

We've only booked transport (eurostar) once via Disney themselves, and I wouldn't again:

There were 3 of us in total - 2 adults and an 9 year old child. When we got our tickets through, they had seated the two adults together, and the child separately - but not just across the aisle, the child's ticket was actually right the way down the other end of the carriage. This was on both journeys.

Of course, we swapped round so I was sat on my own and the other adult could sit with the 9 year old. What annoyed me the most was that on the return journey in front of me was a table for 4, taken up by two ladies who had their shopping on the two spare seats - surely those seats should have gone to a family (not necessarily us but there were lots of families of 4 being split up as well.

I always book Eurostar separately now, so that I can choose the seats we have and can cater for this kind of situation, or when people can't face backwards on a train etc.

:-) x :goodvibes

Thanks, Eurostar direct it is then. I suppose on thinking about it, considering the amount we're spending on HNY & food then 20% off Eurostar and free Disney Express is nothing compared to how much I shall panic if my 3 DS are spread through the train (even if 2 of them are taller than me LOL!):surfweb:

If you do book it yourself, then if it were me I wouldn't bother with the Express luggage service on the way there as you'd need to go to the hotel to collect your tickets anyway so that would save some money. You can arrange it for your return journey at the hotel.
