Booking engine on-line for Disneyland Backstage Tour - June 20th - 9am

I am open to other suggestions. I was trying to come up with a place that could handle a group. Any other suggestions? I want to stay in the Park so we can see the Fireworks and maybe even Fantastic.

Not many have responded so I am thinking there isn't much interest at this time. I am still looking forward to seeing everyone in a couple of weeks.

If you're talking about a place for a group we can try different options.

Plaza Inn on Main Street offers fried chicken (Pete & Walt hated it, but we like it), cobb salad, roast beef, and a chicken pasta dish. This is a buffeteria, and has indoor or outdoor dining area.

Carnation Cafe is also on Main Street, and you need priority seating (they still say PS at DL, not ADR). It is a smaller space, and I think more than 6 people would need more than one PS. Also, since the Backstage Tour is within 2 weeks we might not be able to make the PS for all of us.

Pizza Port is in Tomorrowland and offers pizza, salads, sandwiches, etc.

Rancho Zocalo is in Frontierland and offers Mexican & barbecue food. There is usually enough space there.

Riverbelle Terrace usually has plenty of room, and they have turkey sandwiches, soups, (I have to see what else they have), or you can get chicken fingers or fish sticks from Stagedoor Cafe & bring it over, or clam chowder or beef soup in a bread boule & bring it over.

French Market and Cafe Orleans are in New Orleans Square. You need PS for Cafe Orleans.

Do we have a list of people who are going on the tour & we can ping them to see if they'd like to meet? Another opportunity would be breakfast before the tour. We could enjoy a character breakfast at either the Grand Californian or Paradise Pier @ 7:30, or a regular breakfast at La Brea Bakery, which is near the Esplanade in Downtown Disney -- would anyone be up for that?

I'll post on the Disneyland Board, too, if that would be okay --- and would anyone want to exchange cell numbers? The 20th will be here before we know it.

I think Nancy (YMP) started a list over on the thread on the Disneyland Board.

Also, I think some people may not have admission to the parks, since it's not included (or required) with this tour and it's a black out day for APs (except Premium, of course).

How about a lunch, right after the tour?

While all the places MJ listed would be fun, many of us are not going to have park admission on that Saturday. I will but my DH won't.

And I know at least one other disboarder here will not as well.

So I like I'mtooexcitedtosleep's idea of a lunch right after if we can make it in DTD (which won't be far from where they will leave us when they escort us out).

I think lunch would be really fun, but I won't have park admission that day either.

My husband and I might be in for lunch before we head back to AZ. We were thinking of trying Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen. :)

I'd be up for lunch. I was kind of waiting to see what Pete might have planned. He mentioned on the podcast that he might be planning something.

I was actually thinking about the Fantasmic dessert thingie, but it's probably too late to get in on that - I know it's expensive but I don't want to stand around for several hours.

Breakfast sounds good.

Or lunch. Possibly dinner, I'm not sure if I will be staying Saturday night yet.

The DtD places all sound good to me. I have never eaten at any of them.:scared1: I usually go to DL with my brother and his kids and we always have to eat at their two favorite places, soup bowls at DCA and pasta at the Plaza Inn. I am always up for trying something new.

I had to cancel our spots today, so I won't get to meet you all this time around. I hope you have a great time! :goodvibes

Hey guys It's been a busy week+ and I haven't been on the boards for quite a while.

I'm up for most things and a few of you already have my cel.

I'm mostly off the boards this week, but PMs go straight into my email. Give me a shout out.

Sorry we won't get to see you Chrysty!!!!

Thanks, Nancy...I'm SOOO bummed. :guilty: I had a hard time making the decision, but our wedding/honeymoon are the priority right now. Even for as small as it is, every penny counts. I'm just hoping an event like this will come around again because I was really looking forward to it. Maybe they'll do a meet for us West Coaster's when they're here for ABD in April! (hint, hint) :rolleyes1

I understand your reason for having to cancel, but I am bummed that you won't be able to make it. I hope to see you when you do come out to DL. :)

Thanks, Mary Jo :flower3: We're actually at DL quite a bit (we have AP's), we just can't swing the extra cost for the tour. :(
Maybe I'll run into you at the parks one day! :3dglasses

Hi everyone,

I'm working on hosting a lunch for everyone attending the tour at DtD after the event. Just waiting on call backs (you'd think they'd be falling over themselves for the money, but you'd be wrong - I've been trying to get someone on the phone for a week).

One way or the other, Dreams will be sponsoring a lunch somewhere :)

Pete

Okay, just got off the phone with special events - we're confirmed for lunch at Naples at 1pm on the 20th for our group!

See you all there :)

I'm not sure which I'm more excited about, a backstage tour of DL, or lunch with the Podcast team (or at least part of the Podcast team).
