Booking DME is back up!

I know that booking Magical Express for upcoming trips was down lately, and I had personally verified this as I had a Aug 18th trip we pushed to Aug 26th and I couldn't get the online reservation to work.

However, I am happy to report that I added MDE to both my Aug 26th AND Dec. 9th reservation this morning and I even got the cute Mickey confirmation!

I wasn't sure if anyone had checked this so I wanted to report in my personal experience!

I'm just happy that ONE thing is working! HA!
 
Yeah! I submitted the other day but now I am trying to remember if I got that message.

Has Disney said anything about DME during the reopening? The more I think about it I start to wonder if they will actually have that service or not. We reserved a rental car just in case, I cna cancel that up to 24 hours before so it gives me some security.

That’s good news! Did you book using the DVC link to DME or did you go straight to the DME website?
 
Booked ours last week for our fall trip, but I guess that was before they shut that stuff down.

Got our confirmation email the next day.

I went under "My vacation" to the "Disney Magical Express Service" option and then it brought up the form and then, since I have 3 reservations booked right now, I did the drop down to select the reservation I wanted to request service for!

Easy-Peasy!!

oh, this may only be sorta helpful but I know I read on the DIS boards in one of the big threads lately about updates that MDE was just given the OK to open back up....

We are booked for July 18 - 26, but we are in 2 different resorts. We start at the Boardwalk, and will spend the last 2 nights in a Poly bungalow. There is no indication of what resort you are at on the DME booking. How will they know where we will need to be picked up?

Your reservation should be there. But, for split stays, I always go to the front desk of resort 2 to make sure the pick up is set correctly for our check out day.

You have to make two different reservations if you're leaving from a different resort than you arrive. To book your DME departure through the link on the DVC site, make sure you choose your Poly stay...then choose to reserve DME. When it opens, your Poly reservation info should already be input in the form. If not, enter whatever needs to be entered. Scroll all the way to the bottom, and there will be a box already checked which will state "Request service for arrival in Orlando International Airport". Uncheck that box. When you do, you'll also get the choice to check a box that says "Request service for departure in Orlando International Airport". Then, just finish the form out from there.

Shoot. Already booked the return on the first reservation. I will try to fix it tomorrow.

Ug...I need to fix that too...and I just submitted the form today. My last split stay was 2013, so I didn't remember how to do it. Thanks for the info!

OK so I know I announced that I could book DME last Monday, but since I submitted my request form for 2 different stays - the August one where I had switched dates/flights and the December one which was new I have not heard back confirming my DME reservation.

I totally get that MS is working at reduced numbers now and requests can take longer, but I'm wondering if anyone submitted a DME reservation request and has heard back THIS week?

Still waiting...remember the emails don’t come from MS...they don’t run DME.

But, it does sound like whichever department does...may not be up to full speed...

oh yes...you're right - I'm just READY for something...ANYTHING!! (even though whatever Disney rolls out may not be what we want!!)

this is like waiting the whole 9 months being pregnant to meet your baby...

but I'm not a patient person and managed to have both of my babies early - 5 1/2 & 3 1/2 weeks early...

COME ON WITH THE NEXT STEP.....sorry, I'll take a breath now....
