I have a question about booking early or later....I have a huge party going my family, other family members and friends we would all like to go together...I have thought about booking early so our trip will be paid off before we get there but i have a family memeber and friend that have to wait for their income tax...Now how hard is it going to be to wait till January and be able to book the first week of Febuary...Is it better to wait for deals...Last time i went we book 10 months before we left but i do know it's easier for them to wait so i can wait...

Two questions:
1. How important is it that y'all stay at the same resort?

2. How important is the dining to you?

If those two are really important to you than you may need to do some research and see how difficult it would be to get the number of rooms you will need and the dining reservations that you want.

If they are not that important than, you probably can wait. Just know that you can not crash the pool at the differant resorts, but that might be good and give the family room and time apart. ;)

It's important for us all to stay together...We all would love to stay at the all stars movie resort because we have little ones that would love the over sized characters...Dining is another thing that would be important to us because again we are trying to stay together..

If you are wanting everyone to stay together I would have everyone book at least the hotel room so you can stay at the same place. It is unlikely to be sold out for February, but you never know.

Same with diningyou need to have at least one person have something booked so that you can make reservations. If you have at least one confirmation number you can make reservations for large groups.

You can make dining reservations without any confirmation number - people stay off site, for example.

You do lose the extra 10 days (even they even still have that), but you can definitely make dining reservations before booking your trip.

Can i book just the room then add the park tickets and dining later...If so can pay for them and they can pay me later...I just can't afford to pay everyones packages...

If you book a package through Disney, don't you only have to pay $200 up front? So, technically couldn't you just book the number of rooms you need and then just pay the deposit?

Disney allows you to call to make payments and you can use different credit cards every time.

That might be the best option for you if you are wanting to stay at the same resort.

This is what I have done in the past when we have gone with friends. It has been no trouble at all. :)

I would say wait. Family is the reason for trips like this! Plus, if they offer free dining for then--that might not be released until later anyway. Depending on the weekend in Feb--you should have no problem.

There is no fees for canceling the dining reservations so you can make the reservations now online and then if all fails , cancel them.

You do have a point though--the reservation for dining is a pain (especially if you have to go through and cancel them)!

I thought you only had to put down $200 per room/reservation when you book. I'd wait for a good deal and then go for it. You don't have to pay in full until 45 days before so it's not going to hurt the ones who need to wait to pay it off, especially if you are able to land a good deal before then.

If you're doing a package -
you will need a $200 deposit per package
you must pay off in full 45 days prior
you loose your deposit if you cancel within 45 days

If you're doing a room only -
you only need 1 night deposit
you can pay off before your arrival, or at the check-in
you can cancel up to 7 days prior without loosing your deposit

If dining plan and tickets are important, then book the package. But most likely for Feb, they'll do 40% off or stay 4 nights, get 3 nights free. Those I believe are room only.

You can then purchase your tickets through UT for a bit of savings there. Just pay for dining out of pocket.
