Booking disney vacation not as safe as i thought it was

Today i found out some unsettling information. A friend of mine has started working for disneyworld making reservations, booking packages etc. I was always under the assumption that we are calling into call centers well that is not always the case. My friend is paid to make reservations in her home all she needs is a landline 4 months of training and a computer with disneys booking site downloaded. I do not like the idea of calling to make my reservations and giving my credit card info, address etc to some person sitting in their livingroom who could be copying it down to use at some future date. a company like disney i would think would have safer booking practises like the call centers i thought we all booked thru. Just my thoughts but i am very upset by this.

Do you really think a travel agent or a person in a call center couldn't wrtie down your card number if they wanted to? It doesn't matter anyway, if your card is used for fraudulent purposes, you aren't responsible.

And I hope you never use your card in a restaurant, ever, that is the biggest place card fraud happens, when the waitstaff walks away from you with your card to go run it.

I think you are way over reacting.

You are not lying about restaurants. I left my debit card in a restaurant over night and by the time I picked it up the next morning I was missing $600.

My debit card has been "breached" 4 times at 3 different banks. Never again!

Our credit card information has always been stolen when ever we visit Disney. Every Single Time. We use one card for the trip. I book most things online, exceptions being CRT and BBB. We make sure to communicate with our CC company re: travel dates and monitor our statement online. It's happened in both DLR and WDW. Sadly, we just expect it now and take steps to mitigate risk and hassle.

I agree with the PP, Never ever use your debit card.

The people who do background investigations for the government (i.e. decide if you should get a Top Secret clearance) ALL work from home. I see this as a non-issue. If you want to be dishonest you will find a way regardless of where you are located.

I'd like to know how to get that job. :) I need something to do when my kids go back to school in the fall!

Apply online, but know a LOT of other people are also doing the same. I applied back in December - my application is still just sitting there, "submitted". Haha

Certain credit card companies and banks have work from home employees as well.
If someone is going to steal they will steal from anywhere.

I looked on Disneys job site but couldn't even find it. :(
