If you've booked with a travel agent did you get any perks...discounted price, gift basket etc and if you don't mide sharing which agency was it?

I just booked my first trip using an agent. I normally do it all myself on-line. (I should say I booked my WDW stay, got my airfare myself).

I used Mouse Fan Travel and have had a great experience. They were able to get me everything I wanted plus add travel insurance and still come in a couple hundred dollars under what I was looking at. When you add in the time I saved having them make my ADRs I'll be using them again next time. I've used the time I've saved to do more planning for my trip.

Yes its worth it if you get a specialized agent. You should ask some questions though. Here in PA our local AAA is awful they are not in the office til late am no weekends etc so forget getting a ressie at the Castle or anything special.:sad2:

I used Small world vacations. My agent helped me get ressies for an illuminations boat which there are only 7. I am on the Dis all the time so I hear about new discounts etc. My agent did help keep our ressie the cheapest rate possible. We would have emails where she/I sent info on the same thing at the same time. If you are not here all the time you need not worry with an agent She also saved my vacation by knowing a few tricks on how the system works. We got to our 45 days and couldnt pay. She let me know no problem they hold til 30 days just prefer 45. They are not going to lose a garenteed ressie for a few days. That was a relief! Then at 30 days out we could pay all but our meal plan. However disney does not allow you to drop the meal plan so we would have to cancel. She came up with an ingenious solution. Drop our meal and ticket plan to just one member (the ressie holder) then we could add the tickets/meals up to 7 days out and not pay a dime more than before:cool1::cool1::cool1: Vacation saved:thumbsup2I'm not sure they would do that for an average joe calling but for an agent with losts of clients they did.

I really look at my agent as a backup. I'm a super planner so its hard for an agent to surprise me with somthing. That being said they do it all day everyday. Its nice to have a backup plan in case I cant do something or run across something unusual.

Good luck whatever you decide.

I use MouseEarVacations.com and I got a beautiful Mickey Mouse watch along with my package this year. But I've booked with them 3 times and the best I had gotten before was stickers for the kids. I use them because my family always needs 2 rooms so it's easier to have her do all the pricing etc than staying on the phone trying to do it myself. The website won't let you book 2 connecting rooms (or at least I don't know how to do it.) Also she does all the ADRs for me since I work everyday and don't have time to do reservations 180 days early at 6:00a.m.

If we book a package, we book with AAA. This year they offer a preferred Wishes viewing spot, Epcot storytelling, Diamond card for % off dining and the Diamond parking pass.

I have booked my last two trips using Mouse Unlimited. I am a member of Sunshine Rewards. Sunshine gives me cash back when I book my Disney trip through Mouse Unlimited. I love working with Mouse Unlimited!!! They are quick with email responses and my questions are answered efficiently.

Good Question... I was just wondering the same things! I think I might use an agent next time around.princess:
