Hello all,

I have an upcoming vacation in August. I am wanting to book the CP or BOG because I wanted to propose to my future wife before the "big" crowds. With an early reservation will I still miss the big crowds and not have many people in the background? I am wanting to know because I was reading that some changes have been made and now everybody gets in. Any advice will be helpful

CP is in front of the ropes, and everyone is allowed on Main Street at 7:45.

You are more likely to get some quiet going to BOG but if open changes that will be an issue.

So, even if I wanted a good picture with the castle in the background but not many people. That's probably not possible due to the large crowd? Im just wanting to know before i make a reservation, she wants a semi private affair, not a large amount of people around. If that makes sense

They let everyone in these days. The "empty Main Street" shot is much easier if you stay for the Kiss Goodnight than at breakfast.

This is a great idea! Grab an ice cream or a cup of coffee after HEA and find a place to sit and wait out the crowds at the top of the hub watching the castle changing colors. It may take some time, but with each 10 min passing, the castle will get less crowded.

Thank you! I will consider that, do you know if Epcot is the same way in the morning? I'm really stuck between the castle or spaceship earth

If you have a PPO anywhere else, you'll be in an almost empty park (AK could be another exception right now), but I'm not sure the backside of SE is very romantic and the front side would be visible by all the people waiting at the gates.

She doesn't want a lot of onlookers, she wants it to be more semi-private with my family and maybe a few looking on. But that photopass spot is her favorite within the park, so that's why I was thinking it. I personally agree that the front is more romantic as well though. I'm just wondering about the loads of people

Do you mean the photopass spot by WS entrance, looking BACK at SE? That would be a nice spot and should be somewhat private if you have a PPO at either GG or Akershus, but I don't have any experience with how many people are in EP heading to their PPOs.

That's the exact spot. I was hoping for GG, go and get the picture then eat. Because you can get in a little earlier than the reservation, correct? I don't know much at PPO, we've done plenty of character dines but never that early so I'm completely lost.

Sorry, I had to make a grocery run, and then forgot we were in a conversation.

You can get in at 8:00 even if your PPO is at 8:30-8:45, so you'd have plenty of time to get your picture. There may not be a photographer there at that time, so you may want to make sure you've got someone who can get the picture for you. My guess is there will be, but I'd hate to go to all that trouble and not get the picture.

I am really hoping for a photopass photographer. But if there isn't, I will have family with me. So I'm entrusting one of them with picture duty, hopefully they won't mess it up. Thank you so much!

You could always contact Disney and ask if there will be Photopass then and tell them your plan! Worth a shot!
