This will be my second stay at OKW. The first stay we were quite far away from the HH and main pool. This stay I will be taking two friends who have never been to WDW before and I imagine we will be spending most of our time in the parks. However, both are excited to try the main pool at OKW at least once. They both also want to ride the boat to DTD. Any suggestions???

My first inclination was to suggest that you ask for something near the HH, but really it's not all that important as you can get there by jumping on any bus...it's the last stop in the loop before heading to the parks.

Still, if you think you'll use the main pool a couple of times, you might want to make that request. Did you enjoy your last villa location? If not, go ahead and ask for something near the HH. :)

I love the SouthPoint area even though it is at the back of the resort. Nothing at OKW is as far from any of the amenities as people might have you believe although I can understand a family with lots of children and gear who expect to use the main pool a lot when the weather is miserably hot might not want to be far away. For the rest of us, it is a nice walk to the main pool and HH...but I can be just as happy at the quiet pool closer to my villa! Also, at the back of OKW you are close to a walking path to DTD and SSR...nice for getting to the spa!

What size unit? There was a design change in buildings 30 and over in one bedroom and larger units. Those units have 2 enrances to the restroom, through the laundry room and through the master bedroom. Buildings below 30 have the entrance throgh the master bedroom ONLY. If privacy is a concern, you'll want to take that into consideration.

Thanks for the info. It's just a studio that we'll be in, but there will be 3 adults and we just want to be near the HH, marina and main pool for the few times we will actually use them.
If anyone thinks of anything else, let me know!

You will be easy access no matter where you are, but Miller's Road, Penninsular Road and HH are the most easily accessible to HH. That would include buildings 11-29 plus buildings 62-64. That's 22 different buildings that would all be pretty easy access. I always think the buildings on Turtle Pond feel farther away from HH than those at South Point.
