We just came home from our wonderful first trip on the Dream and already we are having withdrawals! So dh decided we need to book a trip in August when our schedule will work. It appears BLT is avilable. Having stayed in a 1 br last year we apparently can't go back to a studio!:rotfl2: this will be our fist stay at BLT. We plan to book this tomorrow. We planned on lake view. I have read 5th floor is preferred due to convenience. Any other suggestions? A bit confued about odd and even room numbers. I really hope not to view a parking lot and that is why we are reqesting lake view. Thanks..

5th floor is best because that's where the footbridge to Contemporary connects. If you're booking a Lake View, you should get a Lake View, not a parking lot.

We booked a Standard View, 1 BR in 2010 and got an obstructed Lake View (trees). If we stepped out onto our balcony we could lean out slightly and see Space Mountain. We were on the 4th floor, but even then, getting to the Contemporary wasn't much of an inconvenience.

It was a positive experience all around! I want to go back, but we're conserving our points at the moment.

I know you may have booked already but you can always call back for requests. The difference in room numbers, if my memory serves me right, is even numbers are on the outside of the bean while odd numbers are on the inside. So hypothetically if you request an even number you could get a lake view that also faces the CR tower and pool but you definitely get the lake as well. This is what we had for our first stay. Last year we did MK view. Also with an even number lake view you may get a sliver of MK if you lean over the balcony.

hey I love 5th floor - but I though everyone else was saying higher.

now higher is pretty wonderfully - if you don't have a problem with heights. I do so generally go for standard view - which is not above the 5th floor.

the views are really great up high - especially the lake view - it is beautifully.

now the TOW does not bother me - it has a 4' (might be less) length very, very thick (might be 3' depth) wall.

all the elevators are enclosed.

the rooms are designed so you can see everything. so the windows are from ceiling to floor.

Hmm.....rethinking request then..for lake view perhaps higher than fifth so it wont be obstructed? Thought 5th so the wait for the elevator isnt a big pain? Guess I should just chill and get what I get..lol.

If you want to avoid seeing the parking lot, then request an odd numbered room because the even ones are on the outside of the resort and some of the LV rooms on the northern end do have a partial view of the lot--of course, they also have a partial view of MK and you can watch the fireworks right from the balcony (these are my favorite LV rooms).

In terms of floor, we have never found the elevators to be a big deal--we have stayed LV on the 6th and 12th floors and I can say that the higher the floor the view was a bit better.

Having stayed in a 1 br last year we apparently can't go back to a studio!:rotfl2:

And having only stayed in a 2 BR until last weekend (and this last weekend was just DH and I) a studio made me cry! I wanted my space back! I hope I can cope w/ a 1BR for us 4. Just had to say it. ;) I felt ya.

Just remember that a request is just that - a REQUEST. You may or may not get your request. We've stayed at BLT twice now, got our request the first time but not the second time. Both times, we requested:

- NON handicapped villa
- Even numbered (faces outside)
- Prefer north section

The more specific your requests, the less likely you'll receive it. Not trying to discourage you at all, just don't set yourself up for disappointment if you don't get exactly what you want. Even last year when we got an upper floor, south section, inside facing villa, it was great.

Thanks all! Anxious to stay at BLT so will be happy with whatever..may call in suggestions from you all but I realize no guarantee. Last year we stayed at VGC for the first time and LOVED it! The best was how close it was to MK so thinking we will also love BLT for that reason alone. Thanks for the input!

We've stayed at BLT twice with 1bd lake views. Our requests were even # room on the north end as high as we could get.
The 1st room we stayed in was on the 11th floor, & the 2nd time was the 8th both north tower. Even though they were lake views, they were also MK views from the balcony. If we looked down we got a view of the parking lot, but it really didn't matter because we were up so high.
The higher floors are always have the better views & we never had a issue with elevators.

I would avoid the 5th floor if possible, especially in the center since everyone walking to and from the monorail would be walking past your door. It seems like it would be a lot of traffic.

has anyone had noise issues on the 5th floor?

After reading suggestions we ended up calling and changing our request..will keep our fingers crossed that we get what we requested..lol

just back today from BLT.My opinion would be avoid floor 5... lots of noise with the doors contantly letting guests in and out and loud near the elevators there. I never had waited more than a minute for an elevator. not once even with the resort near full:)
