Do you think that booking aulani, you’d need a travel agent? Or can we do it without one?

Also, what’s the best length of stay there? We are traveling from the east coast (NY). I’m thinking about spending some time going to Disneyland and Universal Studios Hollywood. Can we do that all on our own? I usually book Disney World without a travel agent. Thinking summer 2024.

Have you been to Hawaii before? Can you spare 10 days?

Our take is that when coming from the east coast (which involves a 10 hour flight and a change of 6 time zones) that it takes us a couple of days to adjust/recover. There is so much you can do on Oahu, not just at Aulani, that you can easily spend a week. We prefer to go for longer stays and view 10 nights as a good length.

Do you need a TA? Not necessarily. But I will point out the Dreams Unlimited Travel, the sponsors of the DIS, have a lot of experience with Aulani and will search for the best deal for your stay.

We can spare days. I was thinking 2 weeks for the whole trip.

I don’t think you need a TA. If you can manage WDW then Aulani and DL are a piece of cake. Personally I would rent DVC points to stay at Aulani.

I've never booked DL or WDW with an agent and we are going to Aulani soon but renting DVC points. I will say, maybe because we are a family of 5, but Aulani is $$$$ even with points rental.... so we are splitting our Oahu stay into 5 nights in Waikiki and 4 nights at Aulani. The Aulani quote via the website was $1,224/night - which feels... excessive. Anyhoo, just mentioning the split stay as an option while on Oahu because it seems there's enough to do to spend at least this much time there. We are west coast, but in your circumstances I'd be tempted to do the 3 or so days in DL first, then fly to Hawaii for more down time.
