There is only one DVC hotel there.its the grand California hotel and it is very limited in DVC rooms so it tends to have little availability at 7 months.. June is a busy month for DL. We were out there last June for the Carsland opening. We stayed at the hojo just outside the gates. Slightly farther walk from the hotel than the MK from BLT. If you bought direct you might want to look into using points to book a regular room out there.

DLR is very different in that you don't need to be immersed in Disney. There are tons of nearby hotels that you can stay at for less than the disney hotels out there. Good luck and enjoy the trip.

I would say about 5-10% chance. I tried and tried to get in for June/July...no luck. I was able to get in April at the 5 month window.

If you purchased your points directly through DVC or via resaleprior to 3/20/11 you can also use your points at the Disneyland Hotel, Paradise Pier and regular rooms at the Grand Californian. Keep in mind that if you make a reservation for one of the these rooms and then cancel it your points will be Reservation Points and won't be usable at the DVCresorts.

There were one bedroom villas available for last July at the 7 month mark.

As other's have said, it's probably going to be a tough reservation to book. I went to Disneyland in 2011 for the Disneyland half over Labor Day weekend and stayed through the following week. I was not able to get race weekend but I was able to get 4 nights in a studio checking in on Labor Day. I would check exactly at 7 months but have alternate plans ready.

Right now, I'm in the early planning stages of a Dec 2013 trip. I'm currently booked at OKW but if I could get an VGC reservation I think I would go to Disneyland instead.

I was able to get a studio for 7 days this July at the 7 month mark for VGC. I booked 1st day I could and all room types were available. It is possible.

Good Luck!

We got a studio for a couple of nights this May following the WBPC cruise. It was my first experience using the online system and right at 8:00 eastern, at the seven month window, they had good availability for everything but the grand villas. The best thing you can do is be online right when the window opens and also have a backup plan, different dates or unit size. Our dates were fixed so I was prepared to go up to a one bedroom if the studio was not available and also prepared to use points just for a hotel room if there were no studios or one bedrooms available.

I too was able to secure 7 nights in a Studio for this coming June. I used online booking right when my 7 month window opened up, I was also up bright and early that day because I wanted to be on the computer right when online booking opened. The next morning I was up again bright and early because I wanted to call MS (right at opening) to add one more night to our stay, which I was able to do. Not sure which villa type you are looking into, however, I just wanted to point out that the Studios book up really fast (I was surprised by it). So like others have said, it is possible, but you have to make sure you are booking right when your 7 month window opens up. However, if you are not a member, then I would look to see if any members are renting their points (who has VGC as their home resort). Good luck :goodvibes.

We too made a reservation for June this year. I was ready exactly at 7 months the moment that I could book online. I was able to get exactly what we wanted which was a one bedroom. Due to it's small size, only 50 Villas and 2 of those are Grand Villas it is key for non owners to book exactly a 7 months. The studios are the least points so do seem to go the quickest.

Good luck!

We managed 5 nights in a 1-bed early August last year by booking the minute the 7-month window opened. Three hours later I checked online and there were no 1-beds left for our dates.

I would say be ready to do it online the minute the date opens up (I believe phoning MS starts an hour later) and have a back-up hotel plan incase you can't get what you want since aailablity is so limited.

We have been 3 times now between June and August in recent years. It is definitely possible, it also helps if you can be a little flexible with your dates. Booking at the earliest possible moment is THE KEY if it's going to happen at all. We have booked both 1BR and 2BRs.

Good luck!!!
