Hi all! We just bought into DVC and are wondering about booking rooms at Disneyland resorts. I know you can book in the 7 month window, but realistically, how fast do the rooms get booked up in the early March or mid-May time frame? Anyone advice from someone with previous experience booking at Disneyland would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

If you already know your dates I would try to book as soon as possible as the rooms available for points are limited. As for the 7 month window, if you are booking a hotel room I don't think that applies as I booked in September for next June and that was 9 months out.

I believe you can book at 11 months. Try to book early, I wanted the Grand Californian for 3 days at the beginning of December (Dec 3 to 6) and even though disneyland.com showed room availability for all room types, it was not available for DVC points when I called at the beginning of September. I was told points room availability is limited. I stayed at the Paradise Pier instead.

I booked in Sept for a trip next August to the Grand Californian. Not sure if it was before or after the 11 month mark though, although I think it was before.

There is a difference in booking windows at Disneyland Hotels..Using Developer Points, you can only book 7 months in advance..

Using Regular Points, you can book 11 months in advance!

Good Luck Planing!:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

I didn't have any trouble getting a regular, pool-view room on points at the Grand Californian this past May (19-22, mid-week, before school was out), and I couldn't have booked more than 3 months out since we'd just bought into DVC in February. That being said, I'm going to agree with everyone else and say Book Early. I may have just gotten terribly lucky.

Not True I booked using Developer points in September for June.

I believe it depends on the developer points you received, they are not all equal. Mine didn't have any restrictions, but I'm hearing some now do where you can only book 7mo or only at certain resorts...

I'm also looking to book Disneyland this May after I had to cancel my WDW Jan vacation due to unplanned surgery. I was just about to ask the same questions about how far in advance DVC rooms fill up. Does anyone know if more expensive (concierge) book up sooner or later for DLR?

sooner, I think. I suspect they have a very limited # available for points. When I booked my GC room for last may, there were no concierge rooms still available via DVC in any of the DL hotels (much to my disappointment).

I am aware developer points have restrictions depending on when you got them, my first set of developer points could only be used at SSR or II the ones I received for my add on allowed use at Disneyland.

The developer points being awarded now are 7-11 month window because SSR is not your home resort, however when booking at a Hotel and not a DVC the 7-11 month rule does not apply as the pp had stated.
