Dp you think that I will have a problem trying to book a 2 bedroom at VWL at 7 months out? We would be traveling in very late January, early February.

VWL is very difficult to get at 7 months. All you can do is try.

I think its just the luck of the draw. I've never had a problem getting VWL at the times I've tried - usually Oct-Dec and April-May (excluding holiday weeks). I usually book a 2 bedroom there. I've been waitlisted a few times, but its always come through at some point.

Timing wise, that is probably one of the better times to try for it since late January is a slower time. Our first stay as DVC members was in a studio at VWL at the end of Jan 2006. We booked it in early Sep 2005, just under 5 months out and still managed to get a reservation without waitlisting. It was only a 2-night stay however.

VWL is wonderful and January is a great time to stay there. We liked it so much we added on there after our stay! If you get a chilly day, spend some time sitting by the fire in either the VWL or WL lobby.

Good luck!!

FWIW, I think you have a very good chance to get a 2 bedroom a VWL for late January / early February. As LisaS posted, that is one of the easier times to book the smaller resorts at 7 months. Good luck!

I have always been able to book VWL at 7 months or under. I think you will have no problem if you call as soon as the window opens.:)

I have also been able to book BCV three times at 7 months and AKLV concierge at 7 months...as well as vero beach at b6 months. All my ressies are for the summer months. I have never been unable to get what I want if I call at 7 months.:thumbsup2

I think you have a pretty good chance, particularly if you book at the 7 month point.

-for the last 2 years DH and I have attended a Builders Show in Orlando, always right at the very beginning of February and never had a problem booking VWL at 6 or 7 months

- the reason we booked VWL was that it was one of the approved "conference hotels" where a shuttle would pick you up for the Show and we wanted that convenience (plus the convenience of our DVC of course). That Builders Show is in Las Vegas this year and next, so that is a LOT of people that won't be staying at the VWL (or in Orlando, for that matter). Come to think of it, it may be easier to book anywhere at WDW this year and next, as that was a huge show which sucked up lots of hotel rooms both on and off property.

Thanks for your help. We are going to buy resale soon at BWV or BCV. We can't decide which one. I'll book at our home resort as soon as our contract closes, but I'm hoping for VWL at 7 months. I want to be close to MK for our next trip since my kids are still young. I don't think that I want to own at VWL.

I also don't think that you'll have a problem at that time of year. However, do let us know if you change you mind about the VWL add-on sometime in February 2010.;)
