booking at 11 month then rebooking at 7 months?

We are going down in the busy season of the week before 4th of July in 2012
for a DCl cruise on the Fantasy. We own Beach club and would like to do a
3 or 4 day DVC stay before the cruise. because of the cruise we need the days prior to our cruise and really can't move the dates.

having said all of this I feel the I can book our home BCV for these 3 days at the 11 month mark. Because of the shorter stay we thought we might want
to try either Bay Lake or the Villa's at Fort Wilderness. Again the dates are a must. how do we try to rebook at the 7 month mark?

I've only ever booked at BCV and never had trouble at the 11 month.
We would most likely want a 2 bedroom. I've never used a DVC Guide and not sure how to contact one.

So do I book BVC at 11 months and the try to switch to a diff. DVC resort?
how avail. would Bay Lake be at 7 months for the busy summer dates.
any help would be accepted
any thing I'm not thinking about?
any thing I'm missing
what if the points needed are diff

A DVC guide would not help you with this, you would contact member services. You could book your home resort at 11 months. To rebook to another resort at 7 months, they would cancel the original reservation and rebook it for the new resort (subject to availability). They would move the points. If it is less points, they would return those points to your account (keeping in mind that banked or borrowed points would remain in the current use year). If it's more points, they would take them from your account.

The only thing to be careful of is to be sure the new resort is available before they cancel your original reservation.
