Is there an advantage to booking as soon as the 2007 cruises are released? IE: Cheaper rates?

Yes, most definitely...The early the cheaper it is, the more they fill up, the more the cost goes up..Also, if you have a particular room, or area of the ship, it would be better to book ASAP.

:goodvibes

Definitly book early esp for a certain room or side of ship. We booked for Oct 2006 the day it opened up. We figured we're only putting a deposit down and if something happens closer to the time we can always cancel it and get our money back.

Thanks, any recommendations on researching what rooms would be right for the family?

Count us in. We booked for March 2006 back in late Sept. or early Oct., with in days of the rates being out. Our room/cruise has gone up in price $2,500. That is big savings :cool1:

I had heard rates really went up, I didn't know just how much.

I am watching for 2007 to open up too. I am booking as soon as it opens up. This will be our first cruise so I am so looking forward to booking.

I'm also wondering when the new booking (2007) will open up.

There has been some speculation about a cruiseline related announcement happening on the actual Disneyland birthday of July 17th. It does make some sense that there would be an announcement, otherwise why keep the magic in LA for an extra day? Some think they may announce another sihp, but it seems far more likely that they may announce the return of one of the existing ships to the west coast in 2007. So, I am guessing the 2007 cruises will not be released until July 17th or later because they will want to keep it a surprise.

How many people in the family. Do you want a verandah. Secret porthole rooms. Near the elevators? www.dcltribute.com will give you some ideas on what rooms to avoid.

I thought I read where that Saturday in port had to do with Make A Wish foundation, and DCL hosting MAW people on the Magic. But I'd also hope they were going to announce the new ship(s). We'll see.

You may be right, I had not heard that. It is a bit suspicious that they are keeping it overnight in LA the night before the big birthday. We will find out next month!

I called the castway line and got them to give me inventory controls number and told them I wanted to be notified as soon as the inventory becomes available. A week or so later they acknowledge my fax by sending me a post card stating that they had received my request and would advise as soon as the inventory was released. I also, want to be one of the first to book for 2007 to take advantage of the cheaper rates and the pick of the rooms. Have stay on the 2nd deck twice, which is great, but I might try deck 7 in the aft. It is important to avoid noisy areas above as we where under beat street last time and it was kind of noisy. You might want to check out the following link as it lists the pro/cons of the different rooms

See you there! :sunny:
