Hey folks.

I'm looking to book a trip for the beginning of the Xmas season. I've been many times before but never as a shareholder. Ive also never booked directly, always through an agent. I have a few questions if anybody can answer them. Is it worth booking through the shareholders club booking line? Can I get a better deal by looking out for the free nights deals? Secondly, we were looking at the meal plans. With the discount I can get in the restaurants, will using a meal plan still be cheaper? Thanks, Lee

theres nothing wrong with phoning the shareholders line to get a quote, but it will generally be more expensive than an online package quote without shareholders discount. This is because shareholders discount is off the full price only (you can't get this discount on top of any other discount/free nights deal Disney offers on its packages).
Look out for free nights instead (the DLP site is showing, for certain dates in November, 2 nights free when you book 2 nights, so this is 50% off, which is unlikely to be beat to be honest).

Don't pay for a meal plan if you're shareholders, your shareholders discount will beat any meal plan hands down.

Also, this year French schools are off on holiday from the end of October through to and including 11th November, so avoid those dates as the parks will be very busy.

We got a good deal with park tickets from an agent and used shareholders discounts for meals - by being a bit greedy at breakfast (but not packing up lunch like some!!) and having a late lunch (2.00pm onwards) we only bought one meal - we used buffets to max our value! (DH and DS(18) have hollow legs :rolleyes1 )

we would also buy one cold drink and share it rather than 4 at a time - cheaper and avoided lots of loo breaks;) as we find one bottle too much to have individually at a time

Hi Leebob,
I agree with DLPdaft. The quote I got from Disney with shareholders discount for 2 nts was much more than booking my Disney hotel on Hotels.com. I can also change or cancel my hotel booking easily online with no penalties, until a few weeks before arrival. I have the Cheyenne booked for October, Sequoia Lodge for November, and both Cheyenne and Santa Fe booked for December ( waiting to see if the exterior refurb at SF is finished by then ). I will cancel the one I don't want.

The 2 nts free offer is rather misleading I found. I checked the price for 4 nts ( with 2 nts supposedly free ) but when I checked the same hotel for the same dates for 2 nts it was about £ 100 cheaper. So you get a good price for the second 2 nights, but they are not free.

A friend is coming with me for a 60th birthday first trip in November. When I checked the price with Disney for 2 nts / 3 days with park tickets for her, ( adding me to the room on arrival, ) it was cheaper to book Sequoia Lodge for 2 adults with Hotels.com and buy her a Fantasy Annual Passport for € 119 from CEM.

So now she might come with me in December as well!

Disney direct Eurostar tickets were £ 69 return for each trip.

Hi,

According to this website Paris / Ile De France schools go back on 8th November. Is this incorrect?

http://paris.angloinfo.com/information/6/schoolhols.asp

The 11th is National Holiday for Armistice Day.

That site is wrong...Schools go back on the 12th of November, all zones

It's always best to use the official sites for these things or to ask a local ;)

We are already booked for the early part of November. How crowded will it be? Do that many come from France?
