Booking AP room rate question

Hi

So I am looking at booking our first onsite stay at Universal Orlando.

Question: when booking a room with an AP rate, will I need to have the AP at the time of booking or will i just need to present the AP at check-in?

Also, when I order the AP from their website will they send me a voucher or do they send the actual AP? And if a voucher, does that affect being able to book a room with an AP rate?

Finally, I am guessing only one person staying in the room needs an AP to get the discounted room rate, is this correct?

Sorry for so many questions, I just don't want to assume their process is like WDW's.

Thank you for any info you have.

You do not need to have an AP when making the reservation, but they will need to see it either when you checkin, or if you have to collect it, explain and show them the voucher or email print out, then after you collect the AP you can show it to them at the checkin desk, so you get the AP rate

When you purchase an AP online, you just print out the receipt and then when you get to the park, you go to guest services to get it activated.

Perfect. Thanks. This is what I was hoping for.

I didn't want to have to purchase an AP only to find they don't release AP rates for our dates or I miss the availability of the AP rates. We are looking to maybe do Club Level (never have done this anywhere before) so I am figuring the savings could be significant enough to warrant the extra $ for the AP, vs a 3 day park to park.

We will also have a car so the AP will give us additional savings on the parking.

Sorry, another question, if you don't mind, how or where would I find or watch for the AP rates?

Is there a place on the Universal website?

Or will I just need to keep calling as we approach our travel dates?

Thanks again.

When you go on the website put in APH as the promotion code to see the AP rates, there are usually 2 types of AP rates. One is usually significantly lower than the other so you want to book those as soon as they show up. The 2nd AP rate is sometimes higher than booking the stay more rate.

Thank you soooo much. Everyone has been very helpful.

I think planning is just as much fun as the actual vacation, especially when looking for those deals.

Thanks again everyone.
