ok, I have an AP, and my husband has an AP. we need a room for us and a room for them. they are staying 5 nights, we are staying 7. we are doing deluxe dining, they are doing regular dining. How can I go about getting both rooms for the AP price? If I put myself in their room and my dad in my room, will that mess up the dining reservations? (since we are doing deluxe and they are not) HELP!

I recently booked two rooms at POP on an AP pass. One is for myself and husband, the other for my adult son who is not a passholder. CRO CM told me I was able to book up to three rooms. I was surprised, but pleased.

Be prepared to pay rack rate on the second room at check in! They changed that policy a few months ago to one room per AP

I had heard on this board that may be true, so that's why I specifically asked. The CM said 'let me check on that'; when she came back she said I could reserve up to three rooms under my pass. I'll be really upset if that's not the case. Any suggestions?

They changed the policy for the AP rate rooms to one room per AP and it has to now be an adult pass over a year ago. I would call and check again. Book one in your name and one in your husbands.

we are checking in on different days. if i booked one in my name and one in my husbands would this be possible?

Do either of the rooms have to have tickets attached? That's the only thing that might mess you up I think. With the dining plans being different, you would just need to make sure to use your dh's for you and him and your mom's for her and your dad's payments. Otherwise you would be taking credits from the wrong room pool. Does that make sense?

I've never done this before though, so I may be way off...

you said use my DH's for me and him. use my DH's what? my parent shave tickets attached, but we have the AP's. when it gets closer we can always cancelt heir tickets an go to a room only if that will help. but then can they get the DP?

The room key/key to the world card. That is where the dining credits will be.

Are the rooms booked already? I wasn't sure that you could add tickets to an AP room. I just checked and don't see a way to do this online. Of course, you could always get their tickets at a discounter and save some money that way. The only way to have just room and dining plan is through AP (or DVC on points).

Here's what I'm thinking:
If you put your dh and your dad on one room ressie and you and your mom on another room ressie then this is what you'll have -

You and DH arrive you'll get
DH's KTTW card - room key, charging priv. and deluxe dining credits
Dad's KTTW card - room key, charging priv. and deluxe dining credits

A couple of days later when your parent's arrive they'll get
Your KTTW card - room key, charging priv. and regular dining credits
Mom's KTTW card - room key, charging priv. and regular dining credits

The problems will be you may have trouble using your dad's card as yorus since the names won't match and same with your dad. He won't be able to use your card without potentially having problems. The only way this might work is if your DH always paid for everything with his KTTW card and your mom did the same for them.

I hope I haven't confused you more. This makes sense in my head, but sometimes it's hard to explain what you're thinking.

Maybe they'll just allow booking more than one room on an AP and you won't need to switch names around. Good luck! :goodvibes

This is the only way you can do this. Book one room in your name and one room in your DH’s name, putting your mother in with you and your father in with your DH. You guys must be checking in first.

You DH will not have a room key (or you depending on who “checks-in” first) until your parents check-in. So, no EMH privileges. Check-in can happen as early as 5 am or 6 am, so EMH can start on whatever the check-in date is. Same for the dining plan. Maybe you could switch cards when they show up, but one person would still have extras and one would still be short a day.

so if i check my mom and me in first, then my husband wont have a room car,d no prob. there, but i am worried about the dining. how will he get his deluxe credits since he will be in the 'other room" and wont be on the "deluxe plan" for that room?

That's the point, he really can't.

You only need to show one KTTW card for dining. So you can just pay with your card to cover your husband. You don't need to show both cards.

Technically it would be you and your mom with the deluxe dining. As another poster said, the dining credits for each room are pooled together. You only show one room key card to pay for the whole room. Then later on, your dad would have to show his card (which will have the basic plan on it) to pay for his and his wife's meals.

Are your parents not planning on going back anytime soon? We always buy our AP's when we get there one year and then plan the next trip for 51 weeks from that point. That way we get two trips out of one yearly pass.

I am not sure how much it's saving you on the room, since I have DVC, but it might be worth at least one of them getting an AP.

my mom may get one depending no what kind of discount is offered. but that still leaves my sister an her husband who are also going. oh its so complicated!

LOL! It sounds like it. Did you try some of the other things available, like the buy 4 nights get 3 free thing?

What you need is a Grand Villa at a DVC resort and just bring everyone with you! :) We did that one year but of course I had to get a lot of assistance from the others in the party because it's not cheap!

I noticed that you are from NOLA originally......GO SAINTS! :)

our favorite resort is the grand, and this is my parents anniversary, kind of a dream trip for them, but i had already mentioned the grand villa to her, soudns so fun!

I have the 4 night 3 free (we are staying 7 days) but my mom and dad are staying 5 and my sister and husband 3, so we are all over the place!

BTW: the saints are my favorite. i am obsessed. and LSU. we used to ahve saints season tickets :P

Yeah I know what you mean, we are leaving Friday and we have 21 people going so it's crazy. Luckily we have DVC, so for us we don't have to worry about it, everyone knows where we are staying!

I love LSU also, I was lucky enough to get to go to both national championship games in the Dome. The Saints are my favorite too though, and they are killing me. My wife is not much of a football fan but she does check the Saints score because she knows my mood for the week is dependent upon the Saints result! :) Can't wait for Monday night, love going to the Monday night games.

Did you leave the city after Katrina?
