I don't mean literally at the last minute:), but I mean relatively close to your date. We are cruising (on DCL!) in July and I did purchase the fare going but have been waiting on a decent fare and right time for our return flight. Has anyone had good luck doing this or am I playing a dangerous game? Is there a certain time when it is no longer wise to wait? Do fares automatically increase 2 weeks before the flight or is there still a change they can drop? TIA!

I don't think your potential fare is going to drop, it's too close. Usual advice is, I think, to purchase at least 21 days in advance.

You could check your/various airlines cut-off, as it were, by exploring prices for flights 20-21 days from now and 13-14 days from now.
