Booking Air tran - first time flier questions

First time flier here and will be traveling to WDW w/ a group of 7 - 3 kids 4 adults. We are booking Air tran from Grand Rapids, MI to Orlando -

what do I need to know before I book? What seats are best? If we dont book seats we could get bumped correct? Are the $6 seats okay - I cant imagine we are very picky - Does air tran allow each child a carry on luggage as well?

If airtran changes the schedule I can change the flight correct? What if prices go down...can I call for a refund of the differnce or do I have to do the $75 change fee to get the refund? Is the refund a true refund or is it a ticket credit for the future?

Any other things I need to know about air tran / booking in general? I Loved booking the WDW stuff but this airline thing is stressing me out!

The $6 dollar seats on Airtran are fine. If you want to see any problems that might be with the seats you are looking at, go to seatguru.com. They will tell you everything about the seats, both good and bad.

I would definetly buy the seats. This way you are all together. Otherwise you could all be throughout the plane.

If each child has their own ticket and are not a lap child, then they are each allowed a carry on and personal item.

You can change the flight without paying the $75 fee if Airtran changes your flights, not just the schedule. If prices go down you can call for a credit, but it will be for a flight that has to be booked before 1 year from the original booking date.

I have a question about the credit being booked 1 year from the original purchase. Do I have to travel before the 1 year mark or just have a flight booked?

You just have to have a flight booked. You can fly after that date.

And the credit can be used for any expenses....flights, baggage fees, seating, upgrades.
