Booking Air through DCL...again

I know this topic has been brought up before, but I couldn't find a lot of info.
On 9/12, I have to call DCL to set up our flight times from Detroit to Orlando. My questions are these:
1. Can we opt to fly in the night before? We could pay the hotel.
2. Can we opt to fly home on Sunday instead of Saturday? We would pay the hotel fee to do this
3. What air carrier do they usually use?

Since you can technically get to the port in time to sail if you fly on the same day you will pay a fee to come in the day before, but yes, you can do that. DCL uses the Airport Hyatt for day before arrivals.

As for returning a day later, I believe this is considered an "air deviation" and they will charge you $50 per person to do this. Plus you will have to get a post-cruise hotel room; DCL has good rates for the Swan and Dolphin so you could check with them on the pricing.

They use all sorts of air carriers, not sure who the primary one would be from Detroit.

Any special requests do result in an additional fee being charged.

As far as airlines, on our trip this Saturday, DCL booked us on US Airways arriving, and returning on Northwest. I guess they try to get the cheapest rates possible.

If 9/12 is 30 days prior to your vacation, then you are not calling DCL to 'set up' your flights. You would be calling DCL to obtain the flight schedule that they have you confirmed on.

If you want to deviate and stay longer or request special flights, you would have had to do this at least 60 days prior to vacation day and pay their deviation fees (50pp).

I think the only thing you may be able to do now is request a day before flight to fly in the day before, but again you are not able to select the airline or time unless you did a deviation.

That is strange. I asked DCL and they said that I could not make any travel inquiries until then. I will call them and see what is up.
