I'm thinking about purchasing a resale with points being available in October. I'm traveling to WDW in November and would like to use the points for 1 or 2 nights. Thinking I could probably close in roughly 8 weeks, how hard is it going to be be to book a room for a night or two? I considered buying direct and the guide said he could hold rooms for me, but the price difference for direct is crazy!

November is a very busy time for DVC so getting a last minute resie will be super duper difficult. Also, it is now taking 12+ weeks for resale purchases.

How realistic is it to rent or sell my points to a place like David's if I am unable to use the points for my November trip?

Thanks for the input! I'm not picky on where we stay, I'll just need a place to stay on the 10th....

It's F&W time and Halloween party/Xmas party time and Xmas decor starts to go up and point costs are lower...I think most everything is already pretty booked up. Right now all that's open on Nov 10th night is OKW, AKV and SSR (all room types except no studios at OKW).

Yikes!

It depends if they are distressed points (expiring soon). If folks have time to use your points than they are probably not hard to rent.
