booking after free dining offer - go for 2014 or wait ?

we used a lot of our cs credits in epcot , im not sure if its usual but they didnt seem to be any identification between kids and adults cs meals so we just kept getting 2 or 3 adult meals and sharing them

one of my most memorable evenings of the holiday was us all ending up sitting on the floor of the reserved firework area at morrocco we were the only people in it and sharing some meals we got to go from japan while waiting for the fireworks , we used our collection of glowing wands and ice cubes to light up our little dining area , it was magicprincess:

They do NOT differentiate between adult and children for counter service which was great for us,our DD8 eats the same as us and kids meals are all the same in Disney more or less.no one ever queried our orders and we never ordered a child option once in 2 weeks.I agree Morocco was really nice and Baklava was yummy. Portions were huge and we ended up keeping these fir a yummy breakfast before the park next morning.

My kids will be 16 and 12 when we go , we sat down the other night when we were trying to decide where to go next year as it is our daughters 16th birthday that we are doing this for and they said that if we only can go for a week (which is looking more likely due to school and college) then the qsdp will be fine

We went 2 years ago at pofq when we got DDP and as our DS is such a fussy eater we ended up using our Ts credits for Cs as we didnt book in advance and it was all the popular places he liked

There were so many yummy places in world showcase we never got to try and the kids have said the only real place they want to go back to is coral reef and tuskers
This will be a very budget trip and last time i went i forgot to allow for the tips - big whoops lol

I might just keep looking , my mum works for thomas cook and they had a big staff training on WDW and trying to sell disney with dining as opposed to a hotel on i -drive by printing out costs etc with a view to attracting customers during what they call "peaks" ie jan and feb so am hopeful that maybe an offer will come back after christmas
If not then may try AOA and then drool over all the menus :lmao:

The do not differentiate because some of the CS restaurants do not have children's menus however the cashiers are not supposed to let you order any more meals than shown on your KTTW card.

It also states in the DDP brochure very clearly that children's credits are to be used for Children's meals were available.

After 10 night we actually didnt use 8 counter service meals because most times although our family was 4 adults 1 child most times 4 adult meals were more than ample and I never order food just for the sake of it even if its free.
We also had a TS left because I just wasnt that hungry so I don't feel too guilty.
You can pay extra and upgrade kids but we didnt know this beforehand and it doesn't cost very much.

yeah we had 5 cs meals left , some days they did have a kids meal as they knew what they wanted and all wanted something different but on days where they were trying new foods it wa snice to just get the 1 to share then go back for more if they liked it etc , the kids meals seemed very small and the adults one too much

we did enjoy the ts but i would feel happy to do cs only and just pay for 1 or 2 meals o.o.p affter seeing the choice of cs

We are looking to go next october but wont be in a position to book anything til jan, feb time

It would probably only be for 10 days to co-incide with half term and MNSSHP
and would probably only want qsdp as we wont be there that long plus for us it works best with time and not having to budget for tips etc

In previous experience will there be any offers to encourage people to book still for 2014 or do i try and convince myself to wait maybe an extra 6 months and go for may 2015 when they may have free dining again ?

As a previous poster stated there are free dining offers when booking on the US web site but these are released very near to travel, this year Disney US released October free dining packages around 1st August. Could that make booking a flight more difficult and/or costlier?

Did you price a holiday next October when the UK free dining offer was on and if so have you checked the same holiday since, there's possibly a big difference and if you're on a budget it will seem like a huge difference and that might encourage you to wait 6-months and book for May 2015. And in the meantime look into both dining options as that will give you more resort choices.

If you decided on SSR or OKW (so long as the free dinning offer is still around) then you'll have one table service meal per day, I realise that you don't want to budget for tips so look to see if there are options and where you can use a TS credit for a CS meal, not sure where you can but I'm sure I read somewhere that someone had done that. You could also do a dinner show, which will be two TS credits and gratitudes are included with that.

So look into swapping a TS for CS meal, check out the boards and ask the question which CS's allow this, all or just some and if a few could that work for you and maybe just have one or two TS meals which will be a lot easier to budget?

Here's a start, check out post #4 of http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=48489847&highlight=exchanging+a+ts+credit#post48489847

and better still post #410 and the answer 2) of http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=48275755&highlight=exchanging+a+ts+credit#post48275755

Happy planning.........

Pepper Market is at Coronado Springs and I had forgotten about that it's another really good place to spend CS credits.

Of course it is! What a blonde moment! :)
