Booking advice

I was wondering if anyone has used a different countries website to book onsite hotel packages. I have read that it doesn't matter if you reside in that country. I was browsing Sweden's site because the US dollar is strong there. I could save quite a bit of money if I booked through the Swedish site. Just trying to figure out if I'm missing something. Any advice would be appreciated!!

You're not missing anything, it's an European law
Just don't compare the prices, but also what you get, sometimes you get a free dining plan or something

We booked through the French site (we're American) with absolutely no issues at checkin.
