Booking ADRs before the trip is booked?

As far as I know, you can book ADRs without having a trip booked. I'm waiting for a little while to book my trip as I'm hoping for a discount to be released for my dates, but I wanted to start booking ADRs 180 days out. Does anyone know if there's a limit to how many ADRs one can make without a booked trip? Thanks!

Anyone can mke ADRs at 180 days out. The restriction is that you must have a Disney resort confirmation # to book 180+10. So, you would have to book day by day instead of being able to book ADRs for up to 10 days of your vacation at once.

If you're within 180 days there aren't any restrictions on the number of ADRs you can make. The only restrictions are the ones they put on anyone - for example, you can't make 2 reservations on the same day for around the same time.

People used to go and book 3-4 dinner reservations on the same night but at different locations so they'd have them "held" as soon as they could. Then they'd not show for them or hold on to them until their vacation plans were set and they knew where'd they be and then they'd cancel some of them. I'm sure people set-up multiple online accounts and still do this but I do think the changes to the system blocking multiple reservations at the same time and requiring a credit card reservation at some restaurants has helped.
