Please can some one help.
When is the earliest a non DVC member can book DVC a villa without using points ?
Thanks.

If you are talking about a regular cash reservation through CRO then you can book that anytime you want. If you are talking about with a DVC members cash discount I am not sure.

Since a member cannot book a DVC resort until 11 months out, a non-member cannot book a DVC resort until after that time. It may be six months out or less. And it may not even be offered to non-members (if you are looking for something in particular).

I would like to hope the GVs can't be booked till close to their check in time. Being a member, I would want a chance to get one before a nonmember!

I think if you are booking thru CRO on cash that the rates for that time have to be out (ie you can't go past 2010 yet). If you are booking on cash with the DVC member discount it is 11 months I think but if the rates aren't out I think it may be subject to change once the rates ARE out.:confused3

Thanks for the info.
I'll let them know to call CRO in 2010.

so are you saying that a non-member could book a GV starting in 2010 once rates are out, theoretically before the 11 month window opens for members? Even if it is at the 8 month window that doesn't seem fair to members who have to wait until 7 month window to book on points. If non-members are buying these up before we can book that is really unfair.

Say January 1010 I call to pay cash for a GV in December beyond the 11 month window that that is possible? for non DVC members

I agree with someone else that GV should not even be open for purchase for non-members until much closer to the due date assuming they are available.

A member calling at the 11 or 7 month window wanting to pay cash is a different story, that should be allowed because we are members of DVC.

Just keep in mind that BLT is different - it's not sold out yet and probably will not be sold out for some time. The villas represented by the unsold portion of the resort belong to the developer who rents them out to the general public. Proceeds go to the developer.

Until the developer declares villas into the condominium, they do not belong to members and cannot be reserved for points. It is very possible that the developer is allowing CRO/WDWTC to rent unsold inventory before the 11 month window. That makes perfect sense if the developer does not think they will be able to sell all of the villas before then.
