Hello everybody,

I tried doing a search, but I couldn't find an answer. How hard is it to book a treehouse villa at SSR at 7 months? I am going through the resale process right now, but am not purchasing SSR. I would really like to do a larger family trip once at the treehouses, but I was wondering what my chances would be for booking at 7 months. Does anyone know how many treehouse villas there are?

TIA,
K

It is usually one of the 1st room cat. to book up.

7 month is very very tough. If it is an off season you have a shot, but at a busy season even SSR owners calling at 10.5 months have trouble.

Currently only 1/2 (30) are available, when all 60 are declared it will get a little easier. .. probably not helping if you are looking this year.

Have you considered renting points/transfering points in from an SSR owner?

Thanks Sweetdana. I would like to try for on in 2013 - that is the first time that family would be able to come with us. Maybe the remaining 30 will be ready by then? Anyone know if the week after easter Sunday is a busy time? I have read elsewhere that DVC's busy times do not always correspond with the other resort busy times?

We stayed in one in August. I booked at EXACTLY 7 months out, calling at 9 AM. We checked in on a Saturday. I don't know if that helped or not. We stayed for 5 nights. Obviously, the longer your stay, the harder it will be to book.

As time goes on, and as people try them, they will become slightly less popular. They aren't for everyone's vacationing style.

It worked well for us, and we really liked staying there. We had my DH and I, 3 grown kids, my son in law and granddaughter.:lovestruc

Good luck!:wizard:

When I booked mine, for 05/10, I called on the first morning at 11 months out and got the last one for a 3 night stay. Even when they fully come into inventory, there will still only be 60 of them and with the sleeping limits and low points, I think they will remain pretty popular.

They were not to our liking/vacation style so I promise I won't be one of the members competing with you for a reservation.

I called the first day of my 11 month booking window and wasn't able to secure one. Of course I was trying for the first week in December....

Good luck. I hope you have success!

Our family is split-staying and finishing our trip at the THV for six days starting 6/18. I made the call to member services last 7/18 around 1pm-- I think it was a Saturday. The CM said something to the effect that I was very lucky to use my home resort privileges that day :rolleyes1 -- didn't think to ask how many were left. I think next time I'll call right at 7am-- hope I don't have to start worrying about walking a reservation.

I have seen others report success in booking at 7 months, and post-Easter might be a good time. I doubt that December would work nearly so well.

I booked 3 nights Aug 28-30 (Sun-Tues) at 7 months, 9am. So it is possible to get one at 7 months.

I tried for Christmas week this year (12/25-1/1), called right at the 11 month window and could only get six nights.

....(snip)..... Anyone know if the week after easter Sunday is a busy time? I have read elsewhere that DVC's busy times do not always correspond with the other resort busy times?

Yes, that is a very busy week for both the parks and DVC. Only Christmas week is busier than the week before and the week after Easter. Seems there are many, many schools with one of those two weeks off.
