Booking a reservation under a name who is not the DVC member?

Does anyone have experience booking a reservation using DVC points with the name on the reservation not being the DVC member? The name on the DVC account is probably not going to travel on this vacation. Does the DVC member need to make the reservation and then tell them the name that will be checking in? Any information would be great

Member makes reservation and lists guest on the reservation. Member also sets up DME and DDP if needed for the guest. Guest links the reservation to their MDE account.

You can book a room for anyone. The member's name doesn't have to be on the reservation. There's even a checkbox online that says "check if this person is not a member" or something like that.

Yep....I made one for DS and DDIL to Aulani. And just checked the box saying they were not members.
All went well

Yes, frequently. You only put the names of the people staying in the room on the reservation.

Virtually every year I make a reservation in a family member or friend's name. We give trips away as gifts.
As PP have stated just make the reservation in the name of the people who will be staying.
