Booking a Package for 2008???

My family are booking our first trip to Disney on our March Break 2008. We are all very excited. We have our airline tickets already booked. I have called Disney and also tried to book my package including Resort stay, dining and Park Hopper passes and I can not book it yet. Does anyone know when I will be able to book my package? Should I just book my resort now and add the package to it? Is it cheaper to wait and book it all together or should I book the resort now? My package according to prices for 2007 for a family of 4 should be about $2700- 2900. Does that sound erasonable.

I just tried to book for 2008 also and was told I couldn't yet. I wonder why or when we will be able to? I don't recall this happening last year.

The 2008 packages will be released later this summer -- probably August.

You can book a Room Only reservation now, then change to a package later on, after they're released.

At that time, Disney will cancel the Room Only reservation, and credit your card back the deposit.

Then, they'll make a new package reservation and charge a new $200 deposit to your credit card. The balance will be due 45 days before arrival.

Easter is March 23 next year so the highest rates will be the week before and after Easter.

We called and they told us that we should be able to book our package for 08 in mid July... I keep checking the WDW website - just too see but so far its not posted for 08 - I really want to get our trip booked... we are sooooo looking forward to it and have pretty much it all planned

You have to call to book a room only reservation for 2008. When the rates for next year come out, your rate will be automatically adjusted to the new rates. You will be told this at time of reservation.

You can't do ANYTHING online (room only or package) until the 2008 rates are released.

We too are waiting for the 2008 rates to be released. I was told that you can book a room only as far out as 460 days. We can book our room on May 29th. Then when the packages come out I will have it changed. We are so ready to start planning and it seems like the days are going so slow.

We have our room only reservation booked for March 2008, and our airline tickets purchased. Just patiently waiting to convert our room only to a package plus dining when the rates are released.

If you book a room only reservation for 2008 and you mail in a check for the deposit, that deposit can then be transferred to the package when you call back. If you make the initial deposit for at least $200 then it will cover the initial deposit for the package. Also you are able to book room only reservations up to 499 days out but you must book 2008 reservations over the phone or through your ta. If you use your credit card for the initial deposit it must be refunded so just send a check instead and save the hassle in the future. You can get checks from most credit card companies if you wish to do this but it may count as a cash advance so be sure and check before doing so.

My money is still on July/August.
