Booking a Package but not using hotel room

If i was to book a package deal, would they cancel the flight home space if I never booked into the package hotel?

There are some great last minute deals at the mo, where flight, hotel and car hire are all in for cheaper than the price of just a flight, but i dont want them cancelling my flight back to the UK if i didnt book into the hotel?

My answer is I don't know I suppose it would depend on the travel company and the hotel. I do know that if you book a package and don't show up or check in on time for your flight, they reserve the right to cancel the entire package. Whether they do this or not would, I suppose, depend. I am not sure whether the reverse is true though.

Have you looked at fly drives? Plenty people book a fly drive and don't collect the car.

I don't know is my honest answer but like Tiggies said, they reserve the right to cancel the package, but I don't know if they would ever actually do this!

Just wondered if you are looking online for the offer you speak of. You should be able to call up the terms and conditions. It would be highly unlikely that they would see the need to cover themselves in any way for this (I don't think it's common practice of customers ) so you are likely to come up empty handed in your search,but I would definitely check first before committing to anything.

Many have done it over the years I have been reading forums.
We once checked in(stayed 1 night if I remember rightly) then went on a cruise, told them at reception, it was cheaper than booking flight or flydrive.
Most people let the hotel know, they don't care at all as they can resell the room, they get paid if you stay or not.
Probably best telling the hotel then they don't report you missing to the tour op or Police but I know some have just ignored the hotel.

thanks everyone - i'll look a bit further into it.

I have free accomodation from a friend who owns a house over there, which I LOVE staying at, no hotel would touch this place so I wont even consider staying at a hotel.

I suppose I could book in, but i presume cleaners would raise the alarm that we hadnt been there after a few days

If you don't feel comfortable just telling them you are not using it I would stay for 1 night then the next morning tell them you have been invited to stay with friends so will be checking out.
Never heard of anyone having problems.

I'm doing this next April as my friend has gifted me a night at the Boardwalk with his DVC Points ... I'm presuming I'll be ok leaving most of our stuff at the hotel overnight ...we'll only be gone 36 hours ...

When we go we generally stay at WDW resort, we generally stay at a Universal hotel for the few days, we just leave all our belongings at the WDW resort but inform them that we will be away for a few days and when we will be returning. Never had a problem and all our belongings have been safe.
