Hello everyone,

I just wanted to clarify the procedure with booking a Disney hotel with an annual pass before I go ahead and pay the deposit and find out Iv made a hige mistake!

Am I right in presuming as we all have an annual pass I should book a room based on one adult and (2 children under 7) = 3 of us and then at a later date add my partner and other child (aged 8) onto the booking and we would only have to pay local taxes on arrival?

Im also tempted to book the basic half board package however I do have the 15% shareholders discount anyway so do you think it would work out cheaper to use this rather than the package? Im tempted by the package as it would be nice not to have to count money each day and I can pay for it in advance but I dont like losing out. We love Annettes and with the annual pass our meal was only coming to E55 so it seems silly to eat here with the package.

Is there anything Im forgetting? If I book through DLP direct and pay the 35% deposit am I correct that if a better comes on I could upgrade to the half board package or upgrade to Cheyenne etc and only pay the difference at the new prices?

Sorry for the questions, Im booking on Friday and Im not telling my partner and I hate all the responsibility!!!:banana:

yes, thats right - but is one of your children aged under 3 when you go to DLP? If not, you won't be able to add the 2 at check-in, as that would take you over the maximum occupancy for the room.

Im also tempted to book the basic half board package however I do have the 15% shareholders discount anyway so do you think it would work out cheaper to use this rather than the package? in your case, I wouldn't buy the half board package - mostly because it doesn't save you any money (certainly not anywhere near as much as your 15% shareholders discount) but also because you'd only get the half board vouchers for the 2 of you booked in on the package (one adult and one child, you don't get half board vouchers for an under-3), not for the 2 you will add at check-in.

Is there anything Im forgetting? If I book through DLP direct and pay the 35% deposit am I correct that if a better comes on I could upgrade to the half board package or upgrade to Cheyenne etc and only pay the difference at the new prices?

yes, this is generally the case.

hope this helps,

Have I understood this right - with the AP's just book for 1 adult and 2 children and then when you arrive at the hotel you just explain that there is an additional guest (my wife!) staying in the room too and as long as it is below occupancy you just pay the euro or so local tax? Does the extra person get breakfast too? Cheers

(I'm looking at going the week before Christmas and I'm trying to find the cheapest way of staying in a Disney hotel (we love the look of the New York but it's expensive! :scared1:) compared to the partner ones as I think it would be extra special for the kids in a Disney one too)

yes you've got it right - if your children have APs and they are included in the package deals for free children (ie they are aged under 7) then book them in on the package with the one adult. If you would have to pay for them on the package (ie they are aged 7 or over) don't book them in on the package, just add them when you arrive. All your party will get breakfast included.

Hi thankyou...

Yes my son is 1 on the week we return so the room occupancy should be fine... Finally Im starting to pick up on things I just dont trust myself sometimes!!!

So excited for Friday now :-)

Its worth remembering though that room only doesnt count in any deals that offer
For example a couple of years ago it was cheaper for us to book a package including tickets with 40% off than book room only even though we all had APs

Do you have the APs that include Emh? Id book MC or DC if u
you do as the buses are seemingly very quiet at 8am as most guests dont quailify for Emh
.
I would look at expedia, travel republic, alpharooms travel zoo to get room only prices

Thankyou everyone for your responses Iv taken them all on board.

Kizzabelle I only have the Fantasy Annual pass so I dont qualify for the EMH which is why I fancy a Disney hotel this time. The explorers was lovely and certainly close enough for us but we would like to be able to go on rides such a Dumbo without a 45 minute queue as we made our son leave it on our last visit.

So excited and scared now!!!

It may be worth checking expedias prices against Disneys prices for room only aswel
Happy Planning xx

definately have a search on Expedia, saved me a lot - especially if you can find the good deals

good luck
