If a resale goes through, we'll have points we need to use, :Pinkbounc and with the bad sea conditions that prevented me from snorkeling off the Keys last week, I figure that Castaway Cay would be a safe bet for snorkeling in the summer. Is there anyone with experiece in booking a summer cruise (3-night) using points only 2-4 months out? Category 6-7-8 or 9 would be acceptable and possible for us with the points.

I've never done it, but I did want to make you aware of something. Even if DCL is showing availability, it's completel ypossible that DVC won't have any rooms left. DVC is only allocated a certain number of rooms per sailing to sell, and once they sell their allotment, that's it. So, it is entirely possible that you might not be able to get a cabin at that short notice, even if DCL is showing availabilty. I wish you luck and hope you will get a cabin!!!

We're not going out to buy airline tickets, thanks for the info. So truly, there's no way of knowing until/if we get the points AND are registered. I can live with that. Luckily because it's summer and I'm not scheduled for any classes to teach, we can be very flexible with dates.

I hope you're able to cruise -- Castaway Cay is AWESOME!

Remember too that you could rent your points and pay cash for the cruise if you need to use the points and there aren't any DVC rooms left.:D
