Booking a cruise over NYE while on board?

Is there any benefit? What I am thinking of isn't out yet. I am thinking of NYE in 2018. We usually go to WDW then and will be there this year. I think I will welcome a change, something different.

There will not be a discount, but do they offer OBC?

I believe you would get the OBC, but most likely not the percentage off or lower deposit as I'm pretty sure those cruises are always blacked out.

Even if there is no discount (because it will most likely be blacked out), you will still get the OBC. When do you cruise? If you cruise before the schedule is released, you will need to book a dummy cruise, or book the cruise the farthest away and then change when the schedule is released. Otherwise, if you cruise after the schedule is released, you can book on opening day, and then reshop the cruise when you're onboard (e.g., the savings on opening day may be larger than the OBC that you would have gotten).

Hello, we did the Christmas cruise and the New Years cruise this past December. Opening day pricing was expensive I thought 7 night Magic was $5800 for an inside after pay in full dropped by $800 which I know is not the normal. However the News Years cruise went up a lot( 6 night). So for us we were happy we booked early even though we lost on the first cruise. Hope this helps. Enjoy your cruise!
