Hello - I finally made it through the out of orbit waiting page and it seems as though anything labeled as a "villa" is not able to book at any resort? Is there a reason for this or perhaps is it another issue that has not been resolved as of yet? I would be booking cash and not through points. Thanks for any insight you all may have :)

Villas offered for cash are not commonly available.

And, it's unlikely there'll be a for-cash studio. Those are extremely popular with DVC members because they cost fewer points.

We've only seen a rare 1 bedroom at a few resorts. We happened across a listing and booked one at Boulder Ridge once for 2 nights.

I expect there's little likelihood of a cash one being offered for more than a night or two. I don't know at all how available those may be, though.

Thanks for the info! Do you happen to know if they would have been available today if there were any? Or are they something that are only available after DVC gets a chance at booking?

Keep looking, the past 2 years we've booked Boulder Ridge 1BR's at about 8 months out. They pop in and out, be prepared to book if it shows up. Same for studios, we booked a Copper Creek in December for September - cash. Some inventory is owned by Disney so they offer rooms for cash bookings. It's not a lot, so they can go quickly.

I believe Villas (DVC rooms even for cash) are only offered within 11 months of arrival, due to DVC booking periods.
This is correct. Even though Disney is a DVC owner too, they're still required to adhere to the 11-month booking window that the rest of us must observe.

As others have said, start looking around the 11 month mark and just keep checking. The chances of you finding a 1-bedroom available at Saratoga by constantly checking are very good - it's a huge resort. We have stayed in DVC villas for years and have only ever paid cash through WDTC. Just this year alone, I've stayed in a 1-bedroom at Saratoga (beautiful room!), a 2-bedroom at BLT and a 2-bedroom at BCV. We also have a 2-bedroom reserved at BCV in December. I've stayed at every DVC resort except OKW, so the notion that DVC villas are impossible to book with cash is not accurate, although some resorts are much harder to get than others - Saratoga is one of the easier ones.

There might have been cash listings that were snatched up before or after you checked. There's no way to know if there were any unless you happen to spot one.

If there's a cash listing, it will specify it's for cash within the specifications for the villa--view, studio/bedrooms, etc. at whatever resort.

Prior posters are correct that your chances of finding one are better at SSR than other resorts because it's so large.

You truly need to be ready to leap on a listing that'll work for when you want to go.

We book 1 Bedroom Villas (which is what your title says you want (at SSR)) all the time, paying cash, through the Disney website. Saratoga Springs is almost always available even for short notice trips, even for "preferred" villas. Studios at SSR are often also available for cash on short notice. It's also often possible to find 1 Bedroom Villas at Boardwalk and Boulder Ridge (sometimes Copper Creek) without much notice, though at Boardwalk you'll never see a Boardwalk View in my experience, and studios are hit or miss. Availability can be harder at other DVC resorts, and for larger villas (2 Bedroom+) everywhere. You do always have to wait until at least 11 months prior. They are never listed before then and sometimes it's a bit later. Unless you're really tied to a certain date or want a high occupancy holiday trip, there's absolutely no reason to book a Saratoga Springs 1 Bedroom Villa for 2024 this far out.

The Disney booking site disneyworld.disney.go which released 2024 reservations this morning is a cash only situation. All reservations are paid in cash and as such none are labeled to specify cash only. A lot of people have spent a lot of time today trying to access the website. It has been overwhelmed much of the day. Unfortunately the OP wasted time trying to book something that wasn't part of today's offerings.
Sorry OP!

Well, I guess my recollection is faulty then.

I recalled that the BRV listing DH showed me specified a dollar amount rather than points.

Sorry for misinformation.

I meant, it would always show a cash amount on the official Disney World site. The way yours was worded I thought you were used to using a different site that rented points for cash. It sounded like you are a frequent renter of DVC points or a DVC owner.
I apologize for any wrong impression about your experience, but was trying to clarify for the OP that what they wanted wasn't available for cash at this time, YET. I also was trying to let them know not to worry because chances are good that they will get their desired booking at a later date.
