Hi all! I don't know if this should be here or member services, but here goes: has anyone ever attempted to book 3 rooms on 3 computers at 8am 11mths under their membership? The thing is, I either need to get 3-4 studios or a 2BR and a studio if all studios not available so I don't want to waste time. Has anyone attempted this? DH and I both have our DVC logins and could also get a daughter to log in if needed. Let me know if you have any experiences or thoughts :)

How tough it will be will depend on how in demand the resort you are trying to book is, whether you’re booking at 11 months, & if you are going at a popular/in demand DVC time.
When I was stressing about booking a standard view 2 br. & a studio at the OG VGF for 8 nights at 11 months a few people suggested maybe booking one or both early & then walking into the days I wanted. I decided to just book the day my 11 month window opened & figured my back up would be a preferred view or even grabbing a studio over in BPK w/ a waitlist. It worked out & I got both - I did grab the 2 br. first since it had the highest point differential between standard/preferred.

It is Villas at Disneyland Hotel which I've never booked, but sounds like it's competitive. I will have 11mth advantage as I got a point transfer.

I've never walked before, so does that basically mean book the couples days before and keep moving it via modification online?

Just be aware that transferred points don’t always work online during the home resort period.

Some have no issue and some do. But with walking, yes, you just book one starting a few days before, one the next morning, and the last the actual check in day.

Then, you modify the first two to the actual day. But, if using more than one device does work, that an option.

I just didn’t have anyone else to try so I just did the mini walk.

I’ve never walked a villa before either, but yes, you book early & then modify it forward every couple of days. I’ve read a couple of things to be aware of if you are walking through a more expensive point season to get to a lower point cost season - start w/ booking fewer days so you don’t borrow points you won’t need, likewise if you are walking over more expensive Fri.s & Sat.s to get to less expensive weekdays. Also, sometimes your reservation will be frozen & you have to call to modify it.
VDH is new & is not fully declared into DVC yet, so there’ll be less DVC inventory available for booking & it looks like there are very few 2 br. villas. https://dvcnews.com/other-resorts/villas-at-disneyland-hotel/resort-information

I've never had issues with that luckily and since I bankrupt my points yearly, I do pretty regular transfers 🤣 Thank you for the info!

This is a good point about the seasons. We are going on a relatively cheap week and Mon-Fri so I most likely wouldn't have enough points to walk. I guess I will need to try my luck with being on multiple devices!

You could still walk - you just book say 2 or 3 days & move it forward every day until you get to the Monday you really want & then add on your additional days.

This type of walk only has you booking one room at a time each morning. So, you aren’t using any more points than booking three rooms on the exact window.

For example, let’s say you want to check in Feb 20 to 25th.

For room 1, on March 18th, you just book it Feb 18 to 23rd

For room 2, on March 19th, you just book Feb 19 to 24.

For room 3, on March 20th, you book your actual nights of Feb 20 to 25.

You can then go in that same day and modify the other two to the real dates.

Perfect! Thanks for breakdown

If you opt to try for all 3 at the same time, remember you don’t have to mess about & waste time filling in all the guests’ names & info.. Just put the lead guest’s info. in & move on to booking the next villa. You can add the other guests later, after you’ve secured the villas.
That’s what I did when I grabbed the 2 br. & studio at the same time - I didn’t waste time adding all 6 names to the 2 br. villa, I just booked it w/ one name & then moved on to book the studio. After I had both villas secured I went back & added the rest of the names on the reservations.
