Booking 2 tier 1 FP in one day

Do you have to book a tier 1 fp and 2 tier 2 fp to have the option to book another tier 1 later in the day? A couple of the days we are going we only want to ride tier 1 (eg SDD) so were only planning on booking a 10am fp and hoping for another later in the day. I've heard people saying about bumping or something similar with their FP though, I've been many times any didn't consider myself a rookie but I may have to reconsider!

If you are staying in the same park you have to use 2 tier 2 as well before you could make another tier 1. If park hopping you could use a tier 1 in park 1 and then make a tier 1 in park 2 without having used a tier 2.

In short, yes you will have to book and use two Tier 2 fastpasses before you can book another Tier 1 in the same park. There is much discussion about booking the Tier 2 fastpasses and letting them expire vs. booking and just “tapping in” and leaving the ride area as your results in letting them expire may vary.

My suggestion is get the first set of FPs used as early as possible. Keep trying to modify and move up your FPs.
At HS, once we used our set of 3 FPs, other than SDD, we had our pick of the rest of tier 1 rides. Sometimes we had to refresh and modify to get a time we wanted, but the FPs were available.
