Can we book 2 studios? My sis and her hubby want to come with us on a trip, they will stay only half the time we are there. So, can we book 2 studios? Can they pay for their ddp and park tickets on their room separate from us?

Sure you can. You can book any number of any size accommodation, provided you have the points for them.

You will need to arrange for the DDP before you arrive. Just have MS add it to your reservation when you make it. It will need to be paid for at check-in, but they can pay for theirs and you can pay for yours. They can put their own credit card down on their room to take care of any other purchases they make.

Thanks! What about park tickets? Do they buy those there or before they get there? We always have ap's, so wasn't sure how you buy tickets.

They can buy park tickets and pay for the DDP when they check in. Or they could buy park tickets before they arrive if they wish. You reservation is completely seperate from theirs.....have fun.

I have a question about how this works too...we may possibly be booking multiple studios next year to include additional family... So, say I am getting 3 studios. When I make the reservations I put our name on one, my parents on another and my brother on the final one? Right? Then they do their own check-in independently from us and we don't have to be there to meet them or anything, right? OK, but so now just say we change our mind about getting the multiple studios and we decide to go for a 2 bedroom unit or a THV instead of the multiple studios and we all arrive at different times (maybe even a diff. day). How does check-in work for room keys etc. in that case? Do we need to be the ones to arrive first and take care of everything? Do we get room keys for everyone or does everyone still check-in on their own?:confused3 What if my parents got their first? Just curious... I was going to suggest to them to purchase their park tickets in advance (we're going in late August next year and I was thinking that if Disney raises the ticket prices in August again they could avoid the price increase....but then they don't really have a KTTW card that way, right? HUMMMMMM??:confused3 TIA

I suggest that they or you subscribe to the Mousesavers newsletter because they give links to places like Undercover Tourist which does sell WDW tickets at a discount, they are reputable and official. WDW doesn't even offer a prepurchase discount as they used to. I've used Undercover Tourist many times for gift tickets.

If you book a 2BR you will still need to list all of the occupants. Anyone who is listed can check in. They can either get all of their room keys or just their own. If they get just their own, the front desk will hold the others for occupants who have not yet arrived.

Your KTTW card has nothing to do with your park passes. Your KTTW card is your room key and can be used for charging back to the room. You can have your WDW ticket put onto your KTTW card if you want, but it is not necessary to do so. If your parents buy their park passes in advance (usually cheaper) then they'll just have two cards...one park pass and one room key/charge card.

Keep in mind that if you do the Dining Plan it will have to be paid for, in full, at check-in. That means that the first person to check in will be expected to pay for the dining plan for all members of the party. I am not sure what they do if you all check in separately.

are you getting DDP - if so then you will be paying extra for the people who don't check in on the same day as you.

plus you have to pay the entire DDP when you arrive.

would go with studios in that case.

if no DDP - then a 2-bedroom would work - just be sure no once will cancel on you.

Thanks guys...I just remember back in the day (B4 we owned DVC) we used to have everything all on one card. Now we buy AP's for ourselves and then of course have the room key, but I wasn't sure about for my family. We will not get the DDP 'cuz they start charging the adult price at age 10 and our DS11 eats more like an 8 yr old and so I REFUSE to pay the adult price for him until he's older but we probably will get the DDE (or TIW) card with our AP's. Now I have ANOTHER question. If we have 3 families charging things to the room will it all go onto the room with one credit card or can we have 3 different cards set up tied into the room keys? So for example anything my parents charge would go directly to their card or would we have to work out who's paying who for what or just NOT charge to the room in order to keep it all separate??:confused3 KWIM?

you and your spouse can charge to your room ID - you have the other guests set to no charging if you want (that to me is the safest)

now if you want everyone to charge to your card - you can do that too. you would need to kept with everyone number - so you know who charged what.

Only one charge card can be put on a room account. Therefore, you'll either have to let everyone's charges go to that one card, or you'll have to pick and choose who gets charging privileges. Just let the check-in CM know who is allowed to charge and who isn't and he/she will set it up for you.
