Hi guys! I'm new here and I apologize if I'm posting in the incorrect place. Has anyone ever booked 2 separate packages when a promo such as free dining or room only promos come out? We are currently booked at All Star Sports family of 4 and paying the upgrade fee from free QS to basic dining. I also saw that AKL is available for $2700 more. Not sure if we could swing it but has anyone ever booked their "Dream" resort in hopes that it could work and booked the most doable at the same time? Not sure if it's even possible to book both or if it's extremely frowned upon. Would love to try to make a deluxe happen but not comfortable enough to let go of my value resort since they are all gone! And also in the back of my mind thinking "$2700 would be almost another whole trip!" We don't spend a lot of time at the resorts. Our DS will be 16 and 11. WWYD?

If you don't spend a lot of time at the resorts and considering the age of your children, I would spend the money on something else or save it for when you are sure you could be comfortable splurging on your dream stay. Either way have a great time!

Disney's system will allow you to book both. You will hear arguments on both sides as to whether or not you 'should' do it. Some will say it must not be a problem as Disney allows it, and it would be very easy for them to clamp down on it, others will say you shouldn't do it b/c you're withholding that room/promo from someone else who needs it. So, it's really your comfort level.

Like you said $2700 is almost a whole other trip... So it's not a small amount. How long are you going for? If it is 7 or more nights I would consider a split stay, and maybe do the last 2 nights at AKL? Also, I assume you've priced out the difference of free dining vs the room discount? For us, a family of 2, the room discount always works out to be a better deal. Will your family eat all the food with FD to make it worth it?

Free dining always comes out better for our family. Our family enjoys our table service meals and both of my kids are now considered Disney adults. Even with paying the upgrade fee it still saved our family $1300 for 7 nights. Thanks for yalls input! I think I'm going to stick with All Star Sports!

You can do it. I currently have two different resorts booked for September at the Enchanted Escape rate, waiting to see what the AP fall rates will be before I decide where to stay.
