I will be picking up my rental at Alamo tomorrow at MCO and I cant find my Costco card. I cant get to the store at all today to get a replacement. I will be using the kiosk when I get my car. Will they ask for my membership card? Is there anyone out there who has already rented with Alamo in MCO using Costco with their rental? If so did you have to show anything else besides your CC and license? What was your experience? I don't want any surprises when I get to MCO. I'm already stressed as it is.

Thank you

I can't speak to your exact situation, but close.

We rented a car through Alamo at Tampa last week using a BJ's code - I made sure we took the membership card with us, and it was never requested by the person at the rental desk. We checked-in in person because we were adding the free second driver (included on BJ's and Costco rentals) and there is no way to do that online or at the kiosk.

I agree, and if you are not registered, call your Costco and have them Fax it to you, or email to print.

I seem to recall doing an online checkin (through Alamo insiders maybe?) and getting a paper with a barcode to go straight to the car category and pick one. No one asked for my Costco card, but my AmEx that I charged it to is my Costco card. I thought I added DH as the second driver during the online check in.

I am getting down on my knees to pray for you and crossing my fingers for you that when you get to the Alamo counter with your Costco membership number printout and car reservation printout, the agent does not elect to surprise you with a demand for the plastic Costco card.

the OP referenced using the kiosk.

OP - it's not as if you are not a member & rolling the dice hoping to slip one past the employee. If you would be challenged at the gate before departing the garage & the membership information printout (with the Costco website indicated on the printed page) doesn't suffice as evidence of being eligible for the rate, I'd 'park it' & immediately request a supervisor be summoned to sort it out.

Make sure to turn around while you wait to smile & wave at the people backing up in line behind you because the Alamo employee was incompetent.:rolleyes1

Hope you do come back and let us know how it worked out for you, good luck!

My last several rentals have all been through Costco (3 in the last year I think - once at MCO) and not once have I been asked to show my Costco membership card. I imagine with all of the different types of memberships from various places that can be used for booking discounts, it would be a huge hassle for them to have to check them all.

We always use costco to rent our car. If you did this than you already gave them your costco card number. They do not ask for it at the counter or the kiosk. We have used both. We did have our printout from costco for reservation number which helps but if you go to the counter they also have reservations under your name. Just for future I have my costco card number written down so that when I reserve a car online it's easy to find my costco number without digging through my cards.

Sorry I didn't post sooner. In a nutshell I panicked for no reason. Just as you said I used the kiosk and walked to my car. Pulled up to the booth with my paperwork and my license. I was asked if I wanted to pre pay for gas and I said no. I was not asked anything else and I was on my way. No sweat!

I believe they verify you are Costco Member when you make the reservation and enter your Costco Membership number. Alamo didn't ask me for any card but you can just print your contract at home before you show up at the rental counter. I just walked straight to the car.
