I've just booked a surprise trip for my 2 adult daughters (22 and 19) for 3 nights next week, travelling on Eurostar.

I've never been to DLP, so I'd welcome any hints and tips. Is the hotel within walking distance of the parks and, if not, how do you get there?

What about nightlife and recommendations for restaurants? Their breakfast is included.

Do they need their passports?

What a great treat :goodvibes
The hotel is defintely within walking distance (15 minutes walk).

I can't help with night life but regarding restaurants will it be table service or counter that the girls would prefer ?

There is a night club and lots restaurants at the Disney Village, I think there is a bar and karaoke at the Santa Fe, the other hotels also have bars.

They is also the option of Paris in the evening as the parks close early however I don't know how safe the trains are for two young girls at night, we have only traveled in the day into Paris.

They will need passports.

Thanks for your responses so far, guys. I'm sure I'm going to keep thinking of other questions. Is walking the only option, or is there a shuttle as well? I've just read on another thread that, because I've booked Eurostar separately, they won't have the option of having their bags taken to the hotel for them. Can someone talk me through the procedure they'll have to follow when they disembark the train? I know they're grown up, but they're still my little girls! :goodvibes

What can I expect to get through the post now that I've booked?

Are there any websites where we can have a good look at photos of the parks, Disney Village and the hotel? The official website is a bit limited.

Apologies, but I'm just posting as I think of things. Is there somewhere I can check out food prices? And what about tipping?

Hi, I can't really give any info with the eurostar as we fly however there is a shuttle bus to the Santa Fe, the bus station is right near the station so they don't have to walk far.

This site has some pictures http://www.photosmagiques.com/gallery/

yes you can check menus and prices here.

we tip 10% like we do in the UK, you are not expected to tip, its is more of a gesture.

What a lovely mum you are! :goodvibes

The bus stop for the Santa Fe is right outside the station so your girls won't have far to go. If their room isn't ready they can use the left luggage room. On departure day, as I'm sure they won't want to have to go back to the hotel to collect their cases, they can use either Guest Storage to the right of the ticketbooths at Disneyland Park (2.50 euros per item) or lockers at the station. I'm not sure of the price of these but someone used them recently and said they were reasonable and they are large enough for cases.

This site is excellent for info. :)

I've stayed at the Santa Fe a couple of times - It's great. It takes between 10 and 15 mins to walk round to Disney Village - walking alongside the lake and past the Hotel New York and it's ice rink. If they like skating then the ice rink would be a good stopoff on the way into the Village one night.

The Main parks are just through Disney Village so you are talking 20-25 mins leisurely walk to get into the Parks themselves. I've done it with a 4 yr old so I'm sure they'll cope. ;)

Warn them about breakfast in the Santa Fe - it can get very busy so they may want to book a separate breakfast in the park for a special treat. They should book this as soon as they check in.

Disney Village has loads of adult bars, and I think a nightclub. There's loads of choice of different types of food in the Village too.

Not sure about the comment about the passports... Obviously they will need them to get into France!!! I'm not sure whether they'll need them as proof of age. I unfortunately don't have that problem anymore - my face is my proof of age!!! I'd suggest they take some proof of age with them if they want to have a drink, just in case....

Thanks for all your responses, guys. They're mega excited - leaving here at 5.45am tomorrow! I've taught them to say "Je suis Anglaise. Ou est le Mickey?". :rotfl:

Can anyone give me any hints about tipping?

LOL :rotfl2: Hope they have a great time.

Tipping is like in UK, we tip 10-15% depending on how good it is. :)
