I booked my stay for Oct 26 - Nov 3 at the Grand Floridian thru CRO using a discount code. I have never used a meal plan before but my wife was wondering if it might be worth it for us. Is there a meal plan available and , if so, do you think its worth it for 2 adults and a 4 yr old ?

Thanks, Matt

You'd have to book a package and it's almost not worth it to do it, especially with kids. You'd have to almost eat exclusively at sit down's and you'd have to eat and eat and eat to get your money's worth. But if you want to pay for the convenience, you can certainly do that. Just be aware that it will probably cost you more to buy the package than it will to manage your own meals.

I would recommend the Discovery Magic package. This features 2 "wishes" per person per night. You can use wishes for meals, dinner shows, souvenirs, Cirque de Soleil and other things.

If you use a "wish" for lunch or dinner, each person is entitled to an appetizer, an entree, a dessert and a drink. Since a child must order from the children's menu, using your child's wishes for meals is not always the best value. Character breakfasts and Ohanas at the Polynesian (all you can eat) would be the best value for a child.

Since children's meals are inexpensive, I would pay for the children's meal and use wishes for the adults' meals.

I really enjoyed using Discovery Magic.

There are packages that do include meals, the aformentioned Discovery Magic, the Deluxe plan(includes all meals, recreation, etc) and the Grand Plan (includes just about EVERYTHING). The problem with these plans is that you can't get them along with a discounted room. They are always booked at rack rate, with Ultimate Park Hoppers included. They are always MORE money than you probably would spend on food and room, expecially with a discount code. I'd advise keeping your discounted reservation and just pay for you food as you go. You can charge almost everything back to your room, so you dont' have to worry about carrying a lot of cash and just pay for everything at check out.

My DW and I are going in Nov. on the Discovery Magic Plan using a code from Mousesavers.com. I don't know if they have any rooms left using the codes, but it would be worth a try.

I just booked the Discovery Magic Package for my trip in December and was able to use the CLO code, as a matter of a fact I had originally booked with the CKO code from mousesavers and since the reservationist saw this he gave me the CLO code....THEN my mom (we are going together on a girls only trip) called and used her Disney Club card and we saved another $20.00 off the price of the package with the code!
